Nice one yawa-ti-de! I'm not really into Electricity calculations but What if it won't cost me a kobo to achieve this? For instance, if the website is on a . domain which I don't need to pay for? Would they delete my account because of too much traffic?

I can't say but considering they are with google, probably not. Again, note that I mentioned that google and are affiliated which means it is still part of google's 260 Megawatt hours

That means getting my 1 billion page views on say . won't cost me anything. Good so how do you think I can get this?

Its not possible. Stop kidding yourself. I billion page views in 24 hrs of launching? What info are you selling there that generates such traffic? How long has the domain been in existence. Do you have premium adverts on google? Even if? It just doesnt read/sound nice for one to be so unrealistic.

Its funny no one even asks what I thought could be done to achieve this.

I'll like to call it a "Server Crashing Day" [/b]or [b]"Server Testing Day".

Imaging if Google, Facebook, Bing [/b]and [b]CNN [/b]could redirect their traffic to say, [b]Nairaland.com for 24hours, I believe 1 Billion page views should be achieved in 24hours or less.

Now let’s come down to 1million page views in 24hours. What I need do is to gather like 5 sites of say 200k page views each in a day and redirect to say, Nairaland.com then by the end of the day or 24 hours, I would have achieved my goal.

So, you might be thinking, what’s in it for the 5 sites redirecting their traffic.--Its money! Yes money they might not make from their individual traffic.

If anyone cares for more info, I'll be so much happy to share the plan.

So whoever wants to get 1 billion visitors should think of how they will probably collapse a whole web host's network in one day before embarking on such a crazy idea.

First of all, There are only about 6 billion people in the world.

3 Billion of which probably don't have reliable internet. What makes you think even google can trigger 1/3 of people in the whole world with internet to give a damn about your issues in 24 hours?

This is one of the best answers here. Is the goal achievable? The answer is YES but will the solution you are trying to use work? The answer is NO

First Google is not where they are now because they are redirecting people to different page but rather because they are giving people what people need.

Maybe if you tell me that people can go to the moon from click a button on your website, then I will say you can achieve that within a minute.

My guy, what you are having is called WET DREAMS. Everyone has one(myself included). I once dreamed of having a plane that can take me from Nigeria to Sydney within 15minutes. Does it make sense? The answer is No. But as a dreamer, I love dreaming.

Secondly, your host server will terminate your account before you say Jack Robinson.
