The Real Dahawatul Salafiyah In Nigeria by Azrau(m): 12:19pm On Aug 16, 2023
Dawatus Salafiyyah which Shaikh Muhammad bn Aliyy Jabata calls to is a blessed Da’wah. One of the basic and fundamental aspects of his Da’wah is "bring your evidence from Quran and/or Sunnah". His Da’wah is not "which scholar/Alfa is upon this or that". He aligns with the concensus of the Sahabah but disaligns from the stance of a Sahabi when it goes contrary to Quran and Sunnah. This is part of what he teaches from onset of his Da’wah after his return from Egypt. This is why any one who understands this aspect can use Quran and Sunnah with the concensus of the Sahabah to defeat any opposer even if his knowledge has not reached that of the opposer.
Shaikh Jabata sincerely calls to Islam and he does not call to himself. This why, from the advent of his Dawah in Nigeria, he let his students (all the categories they belong) be aware of the past ahlus Sunnah and the living ones among them. He encourages them to travel to learn, most especially from scholars of ahlus Sunnah in Yemen despite knowing that he does not have the same stance with those scholars on division of Bidah into two (bidah that takes one out of Islam and the that does not). His love and passion for narrations of the Messenger drove him to do so because Shaikh Muqbil (dead), who was the teacher of some of the ahlus Sunnah in Yemen was from people of the narrations.

Suddenly we began to hear that if one is going to Yemen to learn from the students of Shaikh Muqbil one has to divide bidah into the two mentioned above (even though there is nothing from the Messenger or the concensus of the Sahabah about this division). Some brothers in Nigeria sold their properties just to raise funds to facilitate their travel to study Islam in Yemen based on recommendation of the sincere adviser, Shaikh Jabata but on getting to Yemen they were confronted by enemies (majority of whom are Nigerians there) of the Shaikh's Dawah who made it a prerequisite for the prospective students from Nigeria to divide bidah and to also make a public dissociation from Shaikh Jabata or otherwise they would frustrated and forced to return to Nigeria. You know how some Nigerians who travel to the US, UK and Canada to seek greener pastures will feel after arriving any of those countries only to be told to return to Nigeria. It is this pressure of dividing bidah that has mounted on some people today, you sleep and wake up in the morning hear that so and so students have "butchered" bidah, you ask what is their evidence, Shaikh so and so said, that person said. Some of them would go as far as bringing Quran verses and ahadith that even those scholars who divided bidah before them had not used to divide. They forget their basis, Quran and Sunnah! Has Shaikh Jabata made a mistake for encouraging his students to travel there, definitely no. He is only being sincere with the Da’wah.
What is known is that each one from the scholars of ahlus Sunnah who divides bidah does not have the action and statement of the Messenger for the division and this is why all these scholars do not have a common set of evidences for this division. This difference in evidences they use is due to the fact that there is no any indication from the Messenger pointing to division of Bidah. When it comes to some of the religion, they go straight to the Allah and His Messenger to get direct but when it is about division of Bidah they to the actions of different Sahabah that do not have their concensus. In fact when they explain bidah, they use verses of Quran and aHadith that point to the fact that it is Allah that has the sole right and responsibility to make Shariah (laws) - either small or big (small or big if your mind is telling you that they are like). If this is the case, anyone that partners with Allah in what solely His is committing Shirku (polytheism). So how come the division, has Allah left some parts of the religion for people to legislate whatever they like in the religion just the way the Christians do (some use Earrings, some don't wear shoes etc)?!
Remember when the disbelievers at the time of the Messenger were not comfortable with the revelations when they were coming from Allah, they told the Messenger bring another Quran or change it. They were telling to him alter Allah's legislation but the Messenger told them that he could not grant their request because those revelations were from Allah which he also had no opinion or option but to follow them. So if Allah did not grant the Messenger permission to add or remove from the religion because it is His, who amongst Man or Jinn would He grant it?!
Personally, that aspect of the Shaikh Jabata's Da’wah that be bidah not being divided is one of the clearest ones among his stances.

[Later In sha Allah, I will still write more]
