Have you ever had a neighbour who just can't mind their own business?
Or do you have or have had a next-door neighbour with a balcony overlooking your compound, who sits there at intervals during the day, watching your every move and making comments? Comments about how you look, your day-to-day activities, your children, vehicle and even pets.

These people seem to be normal, everyday people with families, jobs etc but oddly,- extremely oddly they just aren't content with their lives.

It's queer that adults who are happily married and gainfully employed will spend their free time focusing on the life of a next-door neighbour whom they intensely dislike.
Also odd, is how a young single person who has their whole life ahead of them, focuses daily on another person and even recruits their friends and family to join them in fighting the next-door neighbour whom they abhor.

Living next-door to hateful individual(s) can affect our mental health if we aren't able to ignore them. It can also impede our progress because of the distractions - negative comments, gossip, intentional noise etc.

Not only are these neighbours nosy, they disturb the peace of the neighbourhood by spreading rumours. And since, as people we love to talk about what's trending, many people just engage in the current gossip topic created by these individuals and the gossip goes on for days.

It's an odd phenomenon and I've often wondered if other people have weird experiences living in a compound or next-door to a nosy or talebearing neighbour. For example, a vengeful neighbour who starts a rumour about you just to get back at you because of a misunderstanding, instead of simply talking about the issue and resolving it.
