Hello guys,

Am on the verge of buying an EOD (2004 Model) and all the car dealers have been to just tell me to buy theirs saying it is the best. I do ask them if they are flooded or salvaged cars but all except one affirm in the negative.

Please i need your advice on what i should look for in the car in other not to make a wrong choice.

Take you mechanic with you for inspection.

Only take your mechanic if he can be trusted cos the dealer can make him compromise.
You need to do a vin check
You need to look for rust around the lower part of the car for flood cars and electrical malfuntions.
You also need to lookout for panel beating work around the car
Lastly, go with a friend, mechanic so as to give you a second opinion.
Ask for a test drive and at least 1 month warranty

its pretty hard for a mechanic to recognize a flooded or salvaged car based solely on visual inspection.In addition to taking a mechanic along also ask the dealer for the VIN number and run a VIN check via CARFAX. U will get all the details u need on carfax.

check the color of the transmission fluid if its auto,
test drive it
and last but not least run a vin check on it. the vincheck is a 17 digit number on top of the dashboard drivers side.the vin check will give you a complete history of the car, if its flooded or not, accidented or not, junk or not
