This Friday, FELA LIVES! The highly anticipated return of Boston's annual Fela Kuti tribute party is upon us! This year, we welcome Nigerian afrobeat sensation WUNMI back to perform some of her hits including the banging anthem 'MAW Expensive (A tribute to Fela)" Wunmi did with Masters At Work. The remake of Fela's 1975 classic 'Expensive Shit' is truly a modern day afro dancefloor Anthem. Listen to it here>

You are encouraged to bring an offering to leave, or just pause and give Fela a moment or prayer.

About Wunmi:
Wunmi aka Wunmigirl is a cross between Afrobeat Legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti & dance music icon Grace Jones. Her bass heavy, uplifting funky Afro-beat transforms any venue into a sacred temple of good vibes. Wunmi's explosive energy, hi-octane dance moves and her super-tight band "Slow Commotion" drives her audience to approach the fractured world with new insight even as they shake their thang to dance floor bliss. She has rocked crowds from Summer stage in Sapporo- Japan, Zenith in Paris to Rabat (Morocco), Lily World/Big Day Out (Australia/NZ) to Accra Afrobitten in Ghana. She is an irresistible super-hero of love, fighting spirit, and joy.
