many times we also like the children of israel look at our circumstances ,fears ,weakneses ,incapabilities,lacks and failures and even our sins and they weary us .
those who were beaten by the serpent were asked to look at the golden serpent on the tree .
[which is an analogy of jesus christ]
those who looked at their wounds were stinged with death by their wounds
[ their weakneses,their fears,their shame,their failures ,their sins their problems etcetra].
but those who looked away from themselves and set their gaze on the molded golden serpent [ the righteous and crusified christ]
receives its life as a substitute for their death.
they recieved his victory for their defeat , his grace for their disgrace , his honour for their dishonour,his blessings for the curses over their lives ,his will for their unwillingness,his strength for their weaknesses, his healing for their sickness,his faith for their unbelief ,his joy for their sorrow ,his righteousness for their unrighteousness, his hope for their hopelessness, his sacrifice for their self .
his forgiveness for their most greavious sin ,and his all for their nothing

as jesus set his gaze on the joy that was before him ,we also should look unto jesus who is our own joy.
but it takes faith to look at what you cant see physically ,for faith is the evidence of things not seen .

faith is looking at something you cant see ,moving by the influence of a power you cant feel ,touch,hear or perceive physically .
the sure victory of a christian life lies only in faith . because satan will try to fight all our physical defense systems and armour .
if your confidence is in your beauty or your wealth ,satan will fight it ,and when you lose your physical things that gives you confidence ,
you become vunerable ,and he defeats you hands down . this were the trials of job . satan fought every physical thing he knew he could draw his faith,and confidence from.

when there is no music to stir you up ,no anointing to move you in the spirit ,no ,miracle to encourage you ,
no audience to celebrate or motivate you ,but those who call you "mad, foolish,vagabond,fake,ignorant,devil etcetra."
what would you do ? from where would your faith come from ?
so a man who would stay in faith in the mist of the unseen will camp with the word of god.
when you have nothing you will always have the word of god .

may the lord be our strenght.

if you confidence is drawn from your natural advantages then when they are gone where would you faith come from ?

God told moses to form it so as to use it as a prophetic reference pointing to the Jewish Messiah .
The serpent was lifted on a pole and all who look at it were healed
Jesus was lifted on the cross and all who put their trust and faith in him were given life and healed from their sins .
