The fight over the land of Canaan towards the end of time has been long prophesied before the birth of Jesus. For instance, Isaiah who prophesied seven hundred years before Christ among others saw what is happening today.
According to prophecy, Israel was sacked and carried to captivity all over the world for a total 1870 years starting from AD 70 by Roman General Titus just to be helped back in 1945 AD. While they were away, strangers had occupied their land.

Isaiah 14:1-3
[1]For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
[2]And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
[3]And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,




Firstly,
God, their own God, promised to oust them if they disobeyed and return them to prove to the whole world that He is God and that He is in control of the affairs of men.

Ṣecondly, because the strangers would have had a long history of occupation, they would have to live together. Now, the strangers being on the other religiious divide that has sworn to annihilate Israel, though living together is fulfilled, but at a cost of incessant wars. This would continue until time of the end.
Thirdly, the people who were their oppressors, now Palestinians and others nations around who in the passage of time, had changed names: Hittites to Turkey, Elam to Persia to iran, Phonecia to Lebanon, Mizraim to Egypt would be fighting directly and indirectly but will not prevail.

Which Israel?

The same Israel that is mainly Jews and Muslims with minority Christians?

And Palestine does have many Christians too!
