It's such a pity but this has been so in the past 2 years. Particularly the Enugu - Ebonyi axis. |

There is nothing uncivil about this procedure... It is normal checkpoint procedure employ by the military to mitigate surprised attack on checkpoint by rogue elements like IPOB and cos. The people of the northeast have endured this during the hayday of boko Haram. What most of the people commenting here don't know is that, there is an active insurgency going on in the south east and the longer it lingers, the more it keep affecting innocent people. Just look at the case of Israel and Hamas... 3 Likes |

Do the soldiers don't have commanders? They have continued the civil war won for them by foreign countries in the SE, more than 50 years after the civil war was declared ended. Common ragtag Boko Haram fighters scare Nigeria's soldiers away. They are posted to the southeast to pillage and rape defenceless Igbos because they think of breaking away from Nigeria. Instead of finding out why they think of breaking away, and resolve the issues, primitive and untrained soldiers are sent to the southeast to revel. |

DiscoverID: Happened in Bayelsa in 2006 - 2007 when the soldiers were deployed to keep the peace there. Everyone was searched, including cars and all this within Yenagoa town. Yours truly was also searched physically. I have never been to Bayelsa again since. |

When Buhari was there, people thought because of his mindset on ethnicity was reason why the SE became killing and rape field for Nigeria soldiers. It's 5 months after Tinubu of Chicago State university is on seat, why has his military commaders worsened the siege on the southeast? There are many rich countries without crude oil and gas deposits. There is Venezuela 🇻🇪 with all the crude oil but is one of the poorest countries in the world. So why must desire for cheap cash from crude oil in the Niger delta region make Nigeria want to foreclose the SE region which serves as buffer for the rest of the oil producing areas? |
