Job Title: Sabbatical Program 2024

Location: Nigeria

Duration: 12 months (non-renewable)

Program Overview

The Sabbatical Program is an opportunity for university lecturers to engage in research that contributes to Shell Companies in Nigeria. It also allows participants to gain industry-related experience and provides prospects for teaching positions at specific academic institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

This program is open to senior lecturers and above. Candidates who will turn 60 years old by January 2, 2024, are not eligible to apply. Individuals who have previously taken part in the program will not be considered.

Available Teams/Disciplines:

Environment: Research areas include Impact Assessment and Biodiversity, Environmental Toxicology, Air Quality Assessment, Hydrobiology, Water Chemistry, Hydrogeology, Ecology, and more.
Corporate Relations: Encompasses Social Performance, Stakeholder Relations, and Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) Implementation, with a focus on Social Impact Assessment and Management.
Community Health: Concentrates on Consultant Community Health, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatrics.
Geology: Specializations in Petroleum/Sedimentology or Structural Geology.
Nigerian Content Development: Focuses on Process and Project Engineering.
Oil Spill Response: Specializes in Environmental Remediation with a focus on Groundwater Remediation.
NNPC/SPDC-JV Centre of Excellence in Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering, University of Benin, Benin City: Concentrates on Geology, Geophysics, and Petroleum Engineering.
NNPC/SPDC-JV Centre of Excellence in Marine and Offshore Engineering, Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt: Specializations in Marine/Offshore Engineering, Naval Architecture, and Mechanical Engineering.
