Growing up, I started like anyone in Nigeria and some parts of Africa who doesn't really know the value of time.

I miss managed my time.

But that was not even the issues, my worth per hour hardly fetch me N1000.

Until one fortune day, something happened that open my eyes to the truth hidden before my very eyes.

A friend of mine has huge feet - sized 49.

Some years ago we were walking through a high-end super market in Imo State together.

He saw a shoe he liked, asked for it in his size, tried it on, went to the cashier to pay with his debit card.

The odd thing was that the price wasn't written on the shoe, he hadn't asked the price, and he wasn't particularly wealthy - he was in the early stages of a startup.

I asked him, "Why didn't you even ask for the price of the shoe before buying?"

He explained, "guy, the shoes could cost anything from N20k to N100k, I liked them, and my shoe size is pretty difficult to find in Nigeria. If I spend 2 hours finding a shoe at the lowest end of that scale I'd save up to N80k but my 2 hours is worth way more than that to me."

The shoes ended up costing around N30k.

This guy is now worth more than N10m.

Tips. Value your time.

Time is money. Lost money can be recovered but lost time can't.

Time is the currency of life. Use it wisely.

...but we already know time is money.
