Ever since I walked into nairaland there has never been a day I saw a nigerian music album receiving praises or commendations. M.I released his album and it was criticized, Wiz kid released his album they said its wack, Jesse Jagz threw in his album and they said it's garbage, P-square dropped their album and they said it's trash, Ice Prince brought in his own and folks here say it's noise. Has any album by a nigerian artiste ever gotten a positive reception on nairaland?

the albums i believe deserve positive reviews are either not discussed on here, or people ignore the threads coz they're not as popular.

  yeah  and when i noticed dat trend a while back i stopped taking reviews seriously. the one dat really pissed me off was d negative reviews 9ice's tradition recieved.
i think it has to do more with popularity. if ur previously unknown, no wahala. but once u bcome popular and hyped then ur doomed on nairaland.
jagz of all tradez was a classic to me and reminded me of timbaland's offering's where ur given good music with exceptional attention paid to quality of beatz but nairaland said rubbush and soft, i said fine lets go harder with od and phero's album's which where d best around for me as par rap. but nairaland ignored phero sort off and said od was average!

@OP: by now u should realized that Nairaland is made up of 80% professional haters and 20% sane people. Any issue that recieves negative reviews on NL,be rest assured that the reverse is the case in the outside world. If u had followed the last presidential election build up reviews on NL,u would've sworn that Buhari/Bakare would win a land slide victory.
Most of the 80% sick Nlnders i mentioned have more than one NL profiles,so they dump their negative reviews on a thread,log out,re-log in with a new profile supporting their wack comments.
By and large,its all fun sha'

I love nigerian music. The artist are doing very well. They are packing african awaards and getting some international nominations too e.g Bet, Mtv europe.
Soon they (the artist) will take over the world and maybe win Grammies too.

@OP your argument does not hold weight. I am yet to see a single song on NL get a 100% negative review, unless of course it is really bad. Besides you really shouldnt take what you see here to heart, lots of peeps here are doing it for fun, if you think its bad here, then i take it you have not been to notjustok then.

I've never seen 100% negative or 100% positive either. Everything is mixed, which is expected as everyone has his or her own taste. I'm still wondering which albums/artists OP is referring to.
