As Lagos state repositions itself as a trailblazing city, we are keying in to preserve, protect and promote the cultural heritage and rich history of the city. Lagos is set to witness a never seen before amalgamation of glitz, glam, charity and culture with the unveiling of the maiden edition of Miss Lagos City beauty pageant.

Miss Lagos City is a pageant established to primarily foster menstrual equity in Lagos City. We will do this by producing a girl child ambassador for the City, a young woman that embodies the notion MADE BY LAGOS. The pageant will engage systems that have built success from Lagos City’s resources and human capital to actively promote girl-child empowerment by discovering, nurturing, and producing young women who will be equipped with social and professional skills to become innovative professionals and catalysts of nation building in our city. The maiden edition of Miss Lagos City which runs with its sister programs Lagos Next Makeup Star and Beauty For Service (BFORS) Gala, will be heavily broadcast on digital media via our multimedia platforms as well as our media partners and other social channels. This is in cognizance of the growing dependence on digital media worldwide since the wake of Covid-19. This medium will guarantee us an extensive reach especially for our target audience who are the biggest leverage for digitalization- the “Gen Z”.

Creatively designed to address period poverty by indulging relevant stakeholders like our partners the United Nation Population Fund youth participatory platform Lagos state, Miss Lagos City is not just a pageant, it is an institution. Contestants are not just here to compete; they are here to commune, connect and contribute to society.

The mission for Miss Lagos City 2024 is one million free sanitary to all local councils in Lagos state powered by the 528 project. This includes but is not limited to visit to public schools to engage tween pupils and students in menstrual hygiene management lecture, fundraising events for provision of free sanitary products and sanitary pad banks, amongst other engagements.
