IBADAN BOOK CLUB SYMPATHIZES WITH VICTIMS OF IBADAN EXPLOSION, LAUDS MAKINDE'S SWIFT ACTION
The Ibadan Book Club, a prominent literary organization, has extended its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones in the tragic explosion that shook Ibadan on Tuesday night. The founder of the club, Wole Adedoyin, expressed deep sympathy for the victims and described the incident as both shocking and ill-fated.
The explosion, which took place at Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija, had far-reaching consequences, impacting significant landmarks such as the Governor's office, the Secretariat Ibadan, Oyo State House of Assembly, and several residential areas including Bodija, Sango, Eleyele, Bashorun, Ologuneru, and Apete.
According to the Statement, “The Ibadan Book Club acknowledges the gravity of the situation and stands in solidarity with the affected communities during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost their homes, businesses, and, most importantly, their loved ones.”
In the aftermath of the tragedy, the Ibadan Book Club applauded the swift response and decisive actions taken by Governor Seyi Makinde. The club recognized the importance of leadership in times of crisis and commends the Governor for his dedication to the well-being of the citizens of Oyo State.
Wole Adedoyin emphasized the need for collective support and resilience, stating, "In the face of adversity, it is crucial for communities to come together."
The Ibadan Book Club finally encouraged individuals, organizations, and the general public to join hands with the government and contribute to the relief efforts.
