If you think that this is what is still going on in america then you are mistaken. The truth is that America has now become a Big LovePeddler. And I say that the sins of america is high up to heaven.

If God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for their sins with sulphur, Then america deserves to burn with a more Horendous fire. But you see the ways of God are not the ways of men. Fur thus Saith the Lord I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.

The Bible also says that he no respecter of men. The families of america shouted when they thew out the bible out of the schools but they have forgotten they have pursued after Vanities and left their homes defenseless. God has sent so many preachers to america but america is not hearing and not repenting. (MAY BE THIS IS THE ROOF TOPS THAT JESUS SPOKE ABOUT).

There are two books of the Bible (KJV) which end with a question mark. Jonah is one of them (exercise - go find the other). But it is interesting to note how it ends in Jonah:

that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand;
and also much cattle?[/list]

Jonah was a prophet - speaking in the power of the "anointing" - and for all that, he cared more for his pronouncement of judgement than for mercy to be shown unto "that great city" Nineveh. What exactly should we understand by the appellation "that great city"? How did she come to have that reputation that even God Himself pronounced her as such? I don't know. But we can discern what that name connotes when we read God's message to that city that was "great" --

"Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me."  -- Jonah 1:2.

The time-scale for their looming judgement was quite short: "Yet forty days"! Could you imagine living in a country, and a prophet came there and the one thing you hear ringing in the streets was "in less than 6 weeks you will be overthrown"?!?

Of course, they knew the huge meaning of the word "overthrow" - for it had nothing to do with political take-overs! Nope. . . for when God made a case against Sodom and Gomorrah, the memorial of their judgement was just one word: "overthrow" (Gen. 19:21 & 29)!!


Should God "apologise" if He does not destroy America? "For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?" (Rom. 11:34).

Our responsibility is to preach the word of reconciliation to those who consider "wicked". For if God would call that "great city" Nineveh a "wicked" city, how much would His mercy be stretched out to even the American people? The case of Sodom and Gomorrah has established the word "sodomy". What is American known for? Consider the following:

In our mistaken "righteousness" we often call others "wicked" - crying that God must "apologise" if He does not bring about our wishes to see others perish! Have we taken a look at ourselves to see how such mistaken zeal reveal what is in the heart? Is it not clear that calling upon God to "apologise" has put such accusers in the very place that they denounce others?

We cry for mercy - often for ourselves. Do we deserve it? It is the heart that thinks he "deserves" God's kindness that will never see how God could extend mercy to the vilest of sinners!

I was opportuned to spend time in a christian college about a week ago (i never knew they had such in our modern day "soddom and gomorrarh". Those young folks made me ashamed of my own faith! So many youths excited about God. . .

Have you forgotten that the period we live in is a period of grace and mercy? I am mindful of the fact it is in the scripture also that shall we continue in sin and expect grace to abound?

I tell you millions of Americans are daily crying out to God for a revival over that land. It may be just because of that passionate cry from that American in his closet that God is withholding his hand of Judgement.

Let us not be quicck to judge that the condenmenation of God is coming on the nation immediately.

I have always been online and I always read from the religion thread, just that I had to take time to reflect on certains things and not post here for a while, and have been busy trying to settle down here for studies. But by His Grace, I will make efforts continually to put some postings here too. I was most blessed in your ''Iron sharpeneth Iron'' with TV01. I made all efforts not to post in that topic then.

Yes America is exporting sin but you forget that in that same nation there are literarilly millions who worship God in the sincerity of their heart not because they need miracles, visas and employment unlike your country.

I have seen adults who take the message of redemption to the seat of government not going to lobby for contracts like your own home-grown pastors, i see young people filled with the Holy Spirit take their streets for Jesus.

Dear, America may be a nation of sinners but for the sake of the millions who cry to God on the behalf of their nation that country remains the most powerful in the world.

Theoretically Nigeria is not exporting sin, why are we still so backward? Why are the sin exporters so rich and yet we are so poor?
