A debate on parenting came in a public discussion, those who were involved in the discussion were strictly parents. It is intriguing how 80% of the participants agreed to a fact that raising a well-behaved child takes only the grace of God and a bit of lucky. I interrupted, “Luck ke? There are several models and strategies from which you can choose the one that suit the peculiarity of your child”. These parents resisted my opinion vehemently. Though it is popular among parents, this notion is far from the truth. As a matter of fact, few things can be more dangerous than relying on lucky to achieve anything in life.

Nigerians so much believe in luck and prayers, the reason the country is retrogressing.

Imagine elderly people living in one of the best cities in Africa praying for a faulty transformer to work undecided

We're too lazy, the reason we try to leave everything to luck and prayers.

Most of the behavior you see on kids are hereditary, some kids may take the trait too far but it's definitely in the blood.

Watch out for whoever you marry so as to have children that won't make it difficult for you to train them.

Nothing lucky there. It is either you intentionally train them the way you want or you leave them for the street to do it for you.

In this day and time, with so much trying to win the hearts and minds of our children, we can't just rely on hope or luck to raise godly children. We must be intentional and make a choice to parent according to God's Word and make it a priority to infuse that into every choice we make.
