Edo State House of Assembly has suspended a member representing Esan South East Constituency, Hon. Sunny Ojezele for his activities capable of causing division and incitement among the lawmakers.

Speaker, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku today pronounced a three-month suspension on Hon. Ojiezele on the floor of the House.
With this pronouncement, the affected lawmaker is expected to steer clear from the legislative complex and activities till the expiration of the suspension term.

Also today, the House approved the state government's request to access the sum of Nine point one billion to address the issues of poor roads in the state, procurement of fifty Edo City Transport Service(ECTS) buses, and Asokoro Abuja property.

The sum of six billion naira is to cater for roads and drainages, eight point five billion six hundred and six million Naira for ECTS buses and three billion will go for Asokoro Abuja property.

In his application for the approval of the request, Majority Leader, Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian remarked that the request was crucial as it was aimed at catering to the needs of the people following the removal of fuel subsidy. He added that the procurement of additional buses would help solve the problem of shortage of buses for free services to further cushion the fuel subsidy removal.

In the same vein, Hon. Nicholas Aisosere who seconded the application gave more reasons why the governor's request should be approved.

The House thereafter adopted the business calendar for the quarter totaling 62days for the quarter from January to April 2024.

This is after a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Hon Charity Aiguobarueghian to that effect.

The plenary was thereafter adjourned to Monday, February 5th, 2024.
