The Imo police command says it has arrested five suspected kidnappers between Avu and Ihiagwa in Owerri-west LGA of the state.

In a statement on Monday, Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesman, said the suspects were arrested from their hideout by the command’s tactical unit led by Aboki Danjuma, the state’s commissioner of police, with the help of local hunters.

He listed the suspects to include Muazu Awuta, 30; Abdullahi Abubakar, 32; Ezeru Sabo, 25; Saddam Suleiman, 27; and Bashir Yahaya, 28.

Okoye added that the command would conduct DNA tests to ascertain the identities of the corpses suspected to be kidnap victims.

Okoye said the suspects are currently undergoing investigation and have so far provided useful information to the police that will lead to the arrest of other syndicates at large.

“On combing the forest, two decomposing unidentified corpses suspected to be kidnapped victims and other items like telephones, wristwatches, shoes, and slippers were recovered,” Okoye said.

“The command intends to carry out further DNA confirmatory test to ascertain the identity of the deceased.

“Five operational motorcycles of the suspected kidnappers were also recovered.

“Intense operation is still ongoing in the forest and other identified black spots with the aim of stamping out all forms of crime and criminality in the state.”

Nice job by the police and local hunters.

If not for the involvement of locals the names of the suspects might have been hidden and people would be left to say it is IPOB then the decaying bodies are evidence of cannibalism and so on. The entire Nigeria is now facing serious security problem

The Nigerian police don't care about tribalism or bigorty. They say it as it is.

If it's IPOB/ESN they always let us know. If it's herdsmen like the above, they always lets us know.

You know how they work especially Lagos-Ibadan media will tell you they were abducted on Monday, cannibalized on Tuesday.

Even Gaza are not recording such civilian casualties but I don't see any improvement in the fight against insecurity.

The media doesn't write the truth. Even when a Methodist Bishop was kidnapped and he addressed a press conference they started saying he's sympathetic to IPOB.

The Igbo have to contend with the fulani kidnappers as well as a conniving government and media that's pursuing their own mischevious IPOB narrative.

@ bolded.............you don't say shocked

The way you guys convulse whenever there is a killing in Yorubaland especially by fulanis, you folks will be chanting ,"SW is gone", master-slave r/ship, ESN bla bla bla. One would think that fulanis are not operating in your backyard too, doing what they know how to do best.

The same way these blood thirsty kidnappers are being fished out should also be done in Ekiti state. Those children who were kidnapped should be rescued and their kidnappers arrested.
Kudos to the Nigerian police. Buhari would have released them if he was still president

They would NEVER have been caught, named and paraded had we still been in the Buhari era! Their contacts in the army and police barracks (where they probably go to hide) would have rescued and spirited them away under the guise of ‘federal authorities taking over the case’, and that’s how everything will die down and be forgotten….with the bereaved left behind to mourn the loss of their loved ones! Before the cursed Buhari regime, it was unheard of that northern/Fulani criminals could operate anywhere in the south with such brazenness and impunity!

When i argue that a lot….if not most of the insecurity going on in the south-east is imported/engineered, i know exactly what i’m talking about! There are certain kinds of merciless and disgusting crimes Ndigbo are not known for, which only started after Buhari became president, and which some people are desperate to pin on us to help further their anti-Igbo propaganda campaign!

We know who the armed robbers and kidnappers are in this country but we won’t mention them as immunity don cover dem for Nairaland

We know the sadists. You are disappointed after checking the names. Here are the criminals as said by the police

URGENT WARNING!!!

There's a growing trend of Sorcery practitioners using some scriptures to deceive the people of God. They call Jesus and quote Bible passages to cover their deceit.

BE NOT DECEIVED.

2Tim.3.13 - But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Anyone that tells you have to pray with special oil, water or some other substance from Israel, reject them.

They will tell you to make incisions on various objects, sleep in particular colored clothes, sprinkle salt around your room, call the names of your enemies at night etc.

They are all liars.

Anyone that tells you to give to caesar what is for caeser is not of the Light of God. God has no business helping people through such things or doing anything in the waterbanks.

Jesus Christ remains Lord forever and will continue to expose the works of evil.

Eph.5.11 - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Spread the word.
