From the comments, this accident likely happened on a GUO from Lagos to Abuja because a bus heading to east from Lagos wouldn't pass Akure. The road not been a dual carriage lane means the incident wasnt along lagos - benin - asaba road.

The quoted thread post by that other OP on Page 1 of his disjointed thread says the incident happened between Ikare and Kabba... and that the bus was coming from Abuja!

Another quote on that same NL thread alleges that Ned Nwoko says the bus with passengers on board was going from Lagos State to the South East which would have entailed driving
along the entire stretch of Lagos-Benin Expressway via Ore. That thread post was quite annoying tbh!
