You say imported rice is cheaper than local rice? I laugh. Fact-check me. The rice imported from Thailand and other Asian nations is not this year's or last year's rice. It is from their strategic grain reserves.

They keep their reserves for between 4-5 years. And just as they are about to lose their nutritional value, they empty their reserves, bag it and export it either directly to Nigeria, or indirectly to Nigeria through neighbouring countries from where it is smuggled into Nigeria.

Consuming such rice increases your risk of cancer. That is one of the reasons why they are cheaper. Those countries will not sell that rice to their people, unless in emergencies. Please fact-check me.

Buy Food at very ridiculous prices here in Nigeria. Cheaper than market price. Click the link below to get started.

Eat grown in Nigeria rice. Not only will the consumption of Ofada rice and other local varieties make the Naira appreciate, but they are also more nutritious than foreign rice.
