Today, I planned to buy a ton of 12mm for a project. To my surprise, I could not proceed because 12mm rode is now 950k and my budget was at most 600k per ton. Nigerians will not understand it until people cannot afford to build house anymore.

Doesnt come as a surprise as the naira exchange rates is plunging and nose diving. I was able to get at the rate of 800k per ton though many Sellers were insisting in 850k as at last week.
The artificial deprecition of the naira against major hard currencies has unfairly and unjustly favored hard curreny spenders in the nigerian market, unfortunately prices of commodities will keep rising until this advantage and favor is excluded.
