The deal should simultaneously also allow Nigerian lawyers practice in UK without extra qualifications. If not whoever agreed to that deal is a fool 212 Likes 15 Shares |

Kc3000: Sabi mumu should not be our fear. The fear should be egunje related. Without judges to bribe, how can some handle their matters, seeing the negativity be news we read daily on social media. 2 Likes |

Kc3000: Probably…..on a bilateral/equal-partner basis! But what you can take to the bank is the fact that our judges will not be allowed anywhere near the British legal systems bench! 45 Likes 3 Shares |

The Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership (ETIP) is the first the UK has signed with an African country and is designed to grow the UK and Nigeria’s already thriving trading relationship, which totalled £7 billion in the year to September 2023. The partnership will create opportunities across a breadth of sectors crucial to both economies, such as financial and legal services. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-signs-landmark-economic-partnership-with-nigeria |

Keep signing away your rights and resources in the guise it will favour your country You will one day take them to the International court and you will fail woefully. Cunny man die, cunny man bury am. Are they not your former colonial masters? Do you need to sign anything again with britain since they have been dealing with your country for ages. What has that brought you people. Technology Transfer you don't even have The body of the thread did not mention anything about lawyers. It said agreement on Trade and Investment where the law practise came from, only the Allah knows. Whrn you come to blame the british white for the neo- colonialism you will be reminded that it was your sister that brought the agreement to you and you foolishly signed. Black man, develope your country with your God given resources without signing your souls into slavery. How long will you continue signing all this nonsense. What has it brought to Nigeria. The British ? China did not develop like this . I dey pity blackman. Soul go soon tell una because body don tell una tire, una no dey hear body Well I get the jerk, they needed a very corrupt government who does not have the mandate of Nigerians like always and who is willing to do anything to remain in Office, and they came calling. Ok o continue signing 24 Likes 1 Share |

Is UK going to reciprocate the gesture? Otherwise, it's a lopsided agreement without significant benefits to the Nigerian legal system 11 Likes 2 Shares |

The corrupt politicians and judges in Nigeria will make them useless. Court cases in Nigeria are won by who you know at the top. Even the most brilliant lawyers in UK will loose a simple case in Nigeria. Welcome to Africa 2 Likes |

From media reports, the deal won't benefit Nigeria in any way. British people just want to take, take and just keep taking. 10 Likes |

If it isn't a two-way deal (i.e. also allowing Nigerian lawyers to practise in the UK) then it makes no sense. That's another form of economic exploitation cos it would make Nigerian law firms irrelevant to people who would have hired them from the UK. 6 Likes |

Question. Would the British lawyers practicing in Nigeria be paid in pounds or Naira? Secondly, would Nigerian trained lawyers be allowed to practice in the UK? 18 Likes |
