The chief medical director of the Alex Ekweme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi State popularly known as AEFUTHA Doctor Onoh Robinson is currently being dragged on Twitter and other social media platforms for it's failure as an institution to pay the 2022 set of Medical interns that worked with them their duly deserved hazard allowance for 11 months.

The management of Alex Ekweme University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi State has refused to pay 595 Health workers, consisting of Pharmacists, Laboratory Scientists, Nurses etc, that interned with them their entitled 11 month Hazard Allowances. They simply paid Medical Doctors (interns) and ignored the rest.

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Robinson Onoh, admitted that the money was released to the health institution by the Federal Government "but his predecessor did not act on it". What stops his management team from doing the needful? Perhaps, there exist a racketeering amongst these CMDs?

The money in question is N297,000 per intern. That means they are deliberately sitting on N176,715,000.

Is the Federal Ministry of Health @Fmohnigeria part of this conspiracy? It's high time the EFCC @officialEFCC, ICPC @icpcnigeria and the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police @PoliceNG start doing their jobs. We can't be losing our bright Health workers to Japa, yet deny those that are here their entitlements.

This is very inhuman that AEF-UTHA will not pay their 2022 Intern their hazard allowance since.

How can the Hospital Management be this corrupt?

You must pay these interns because they worked for it. We all know how important interns are to any Health Institution. Owing them for Hazard allowance that has been released is so dehumanising.

The hospital management both old and new should account for how the money was spent .

Greediness is all I see, after he will be blaming President Tinubu or Ex president Buhari when they are greedily sitting on interns money. Dr. Onoh Robinson (CMD) and co's please pay those interns. You are even supposed to add interest to the money because the value of that money has depreciated.

AEFUTHA has intentionally refused to pay their 2022 batch of interns their hazard allowance even after federal government released the money to the hospital management.
They paid house officers completely without delay.
Paid us ie, interns from other departments only one month and withheld 11 months.
I stand to say that this is unfair. This is nothing else but planned embezzlement.

I hereby cry and appeal to the whole nairaland community and the general public to help us push and end this injustice.

My advice? Both parties should consider an indoor smooth resolution, even if it demands patience from the concerned interns. A worker deserves his wages, it's scriptural.
