Given the decade long North East history of school children kidnapping, lessons should have been learned by now, no excuse for not doing so will be reasonable, including excuses such as "Poverty" and "the Economy". Dolling out millions to kidnapers isn't economy efficient. No schools in the NE, or anywhere in Nigeria, should by now be at least without perimeter fencing surrounding square, security aware buildings.

Pictures below are random UK schools. UK isn't experiencing spate of school kidnappings but they know in advance that children will be vulnerable to adults or deviants of society in one form or another. All schools in the united kingdom have walls and security measures in place.

Also, as much as possible (unfortunately) schools should be relocated to urban places, chaotic as they are, until we are better at handling the security of schools set in remote areas due to the serenity of such places which is good for the mental and physical wellbeing of people generally. Even village, hec place them at the centre of villages, why not? We don't have to emulate everything abroad.

We also need to use our own Nigeria brains - such as they are- to construct schools in ways that would in themselves be difficult for outsiders to navigate once school perimeter walls, CCTV,are breached by hostiles.

They want use English to confuse Nigerians. There is a difference between rescued and released. These ones were released based on payment of ransome......they were not rescued. Rescue has to do with gun battles or exchange of fire or killings of the kidnappers or blah blah.
