Halima Abubakar is ordered by the court to give Apostle Suleman N10 million

Halima Abubakar was ordered by a Federal High Court to pay N10 million for disseminating untrue information against Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Abubakar was ordered to reimburse Omega Fire Ministries International’s Senior Pastor and General Overseer, Apostle Suleman, for any losses resulting from her behavior, following the court’s decision on Monday.

According to the court’s certified authentic copy of the order, Apostle Suleman accused Abubakar of making derogatory remarks about him on her Instagram account, which were subsequently picked up by other blogs and media. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The case’s judge, Enobie Obanor, emphasized that Abubakar had the opportunity to defend herself but chose not to.

The ruling highlights how nasty and untrue the statements posted by Abubakar on her Instagram account, @halimabubakar, were, harming Apostle Suleman’s standing with the public.

Apostle Suleman was thus given N10,000,000 by the court as exemplary and aggravating damages for libel.

The court also imposed an injunction that forbade Abubakar from publishing any more information on Apostle Suleman.
