lta Airlines has announced a significant expansion by resuming daily flights to Lagos, Nigeria, from New York-JFK on December 1.

The airline is also upgrading its fleet for routes to Accra, Ghana, and South Africa.

This was announced in a circular released to journalists on Friday.

Delta currently operates daily flights between Atlanta and Lagos. With the return of daily service from New York-JFK, the airline will provide a total of 14 weekly flights to Nigeria from December through the first half of January and 10 weekly flights for the rest of the harmattan 2024 season.

The airline carries more than half a million customers between the US and Africa each year on more than 34 weekly flights.

“These enhancements reflect our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” said Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, Joe Esposito, adding, “We’re expanding our options for customers to experience the premium service and elevated hospitality they expect from Delta.”

According to the circular, passengers on this flight can choose from four classes on the Airbus A330-200: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, or Main Cabin.


“Customers on this flight will have a choice of Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin experiences on the Airbus A330-200,” it added.
