You don't say.

Ajimobi is actually the best except for his loud mouth.... the only issue Ajimobi had was that he talks to people any how like a typical Ibadan man.

Ajimobi introduced a lot of reforms in education, health, transportation (Ajumose), roads (mokola bridge n co.) ... Makinde is building on those transformations.

This was why Ajimobi became the first governor to break the two-term barrier
You're spot on. Ajimobi's exceptional performance during his first term earned him a second term for the first time in the history of civilian rule in Oyo state.

Don't mind them. They were mainly referring to the Old Ibadan settlement. If you've been to the new settlement, you'd not believe your eyes. In Nigeria, civilisation started in Ibadan. Ibadan was just like lagos or Abuja of nowadays. In those days, people would come from outside Nigeria to visit Ibadan. 2 african cities were known for tourism in those days, because of their high level of civilisation and huge population. They're Ibadan and Cairo. Ibadan used to be the largest city in Africa before Cairo overtook her. You could drive for 3 hours within Ibadan metropolis and you're still there. A prof emeritus once told me that, they used to receive patients into UCH from other African nations and the tertiary health institution was once voted the 4th best in the entire commonwealth nations. You know what that means.

On the brown roofs, as of the time when about 80% of houses in Nigeria were covered with rafia palms and bamboos, 80% of houses in Ibadan already had the galvanised iron sheets on them. People used to come and see that alone. Rich men from outside would come and build in Ibadan. Unfortunately,.Ibadan lost its status for years until makinde arrived. If only we can allow merit to have its way , mediocrity won't hold sway and we'd always get better as a nation. Seyi makinde is a true representation of omoluabi. That's what we're known for, and not someone of controversial status. Makinde is a clean politician whose profile can be verified anywhere. Kudos to him. If he continues this way, he'd lead Nigeria sooner than anticipated. Soludo and Oti are another guys to look out for. We have such visionaries in every tribe.

True talk my brother.
The forebears of those shouting brown roofs were living in thatched houses, caves, and tree tops , when those houses were built. You want to compare civilization of Yoruba people to their barbaric past?

Proudly Yoruba.

no street lights in Ajimobi roads he constructed, no form of workers and pensioners welfare in Ajimobi government. How many overhead bridges Ajimobi constructed? Seyi Makinde more than 5 overhead standard bridge in Ibadan not to talk of Badeku Overhead bridge along Ibadan-ife expressway. Seyi makes lautech to be sole ownership of Oyo State government. For more than 5 years now, no strike in lautech, Seyi Makinde constructed Ogbomosho to iseyin roads to fastrack agricultural produces in the rural areas to urban cities. Let me stop here. You can check google for more details.

There are NO side walks here again (while piling huge debts running into billions of Naira for incoming administrations to settle). I wonder what's wrong with some of these government folks in Nigeria that they love to build roads without pedestrian walkways... And they get applauded by those who are clueless OR do NOT understand what global-best practices or standards entail. It's unsightly to see open drainages on some of the roads in a place like IB and other major cities... it's a sign of significant underachievers tbh.

Don't be utterly stupic oga..... That road is an interland connecting road.... The road has a setback for pedestrians.

Casting aspertions on every good thing is evil.

Is this how low we have descended.

Majority of roads we celebrate Alex otti and seyi for are truck C roads that are supposed to be handled by local government.

State governments should handling highways and metros!

When I see misinformation,I don't tend to look away. Ajimobi was just an average Govornor. He didn't do anything spectacular when it comes to infrastructure.

All his roads were just about 50KM. In Oyo town the road you mentioned is just about 4KM, Iseyin was a dual road of about 6KM. Saki road was started and left abandoned for years before Seyi came and completed it.

The people of Saki once came to secretariat to protest and Ajimobi told them to always wet the road with water. Until Seyi came in and the people came again to protest and he finished the road.

Or the technical university that Oyo only has a little stake in there and it is 99 percent private. Where a greater percentage of students of Oyo cannot even afford to attend. As in,who's school fees is over a Million, while Lautech was under lock and keys for over a year.

Common.

Flyover at Mokola that didn't solve traffic. As in,the flyover at molete that is dual constructed in the 80's is better than that of Mokola. The junction improvement seyi has done at challenge and Gate has solved more traffic and better than Ajimoboi's Truckless flyover.

And No,He did not almost complete Akobo. They only paid the yeye construction company 200Million and those ones only brought iron rods did foundation and left the bridge not done from 2016 till Seyi came into government and reawarded it afresh. Saying Ajimobi constructed Akobo bridge is the worst misinformation ever.

A 65 Metres bridge was left undone for years.

Oke Ogun Poly and Ogundoyin Polytechnic were former satellite campuses of the Polytechnic Ibadan that Ajimobi only changed their names and they are no longer satellite campuses again. Not that he built new schools.

And Yes,he expanded already existing roads, which are among the 50KM he constructed.

Saying he is "Baba" is just an overhype. Even Akala constructed more roads than him only that Akala roads are nothing to write home about.

Seyi has done more roads than any government in the history of Oyo state. Maybe Bola Ige will be the only one to surpass Seyi.

But one thing I gave to Ajimobi is nipping thugery in the bud in his first term and the establishment of Ibadan Urban Management Flood Authority,A world Bank agency that helps Oyo to build bridges to guide against flooding. A step the Seyi Makinde administration also continued

Apart from that,He was just an average Joe. Owned pensioners and called them dead people. Lautech was shut. Civil servants were even owed at a time.

Today,5 years straight. Pensioners have been paid every month unfailingly and are paid gratuity periodically.

It is only Lagos and Oyo that pays Pensioners every month in the SW. Seyi meet a pensioner debt of 52Billion naira and he is paying off on after the other and doing correct Infrastructure at the same time

Wait for the 76KM Iseyin to Ogbomosho road that will be commissioned in a few weeks

Ajimobi ko, Ajimobi ni

Only mokola bridge, you people just talk as if that's the first overhead bridge in Ibadan

Rubbish reforms that you can't state

Seyi unbundled lautech and made it solely oyostate, introduce Oyo state health scheme, remove sch fees in public schs, paid pension and salary adequately, employed 5k teachers from his first year not the type ajimobi did that they bought form and no employment

Not to talk about road projects
Moniya iseyin, Oyo iseyin, akobo road, akala road, challenge road,

As I always say: Nigerians have no clue what entails development of society. Every day in every conversation, I see this.

This is why democracy is a joke in backward societies. The people with the power to vote will never allow their society develop, because they don't know how development looks like and are not prepared to put in the effort and the pain for their grandchildren to enjoy.

I thank Seyi Makinde for making life a little or a lot easier on the roads -- not just the physical aspects but controlling the savage horde that make everything a hell. Look at how many people they have employed just to maintain the "new order". At what cost? Who is paying?

As I have often said once again, it's much cheaper and economically sustainable to use all your national resources to civilise your savages than to build white elephant projects for them. It will just return to square one after a while but the debts won't go away. Nigerian folly since 1960

GSM is doing well in road infrastructure and has done a lot on agriculture and security.

Unfortunately, he didn’t continue with Ajimobi's reforms in secondary education. It would have been wonderful if he built on it. He has done well with more developments in tertiary education.
