Hello to whoever is reading this, i might as well want to apologise if i've got this post in the wrong section.

Am an undergraduate, life science student. But i'll like to get more sophisticated, i like computers generally, and i learned alot without the help of anybody. So right now, am thinking about learning a programming language, it's not for commercial purpose, (atleast not now). But i'll like to learn on my own, am more interested in mobile applications and interactive web applications. I don't know which language to learn. Also i'll like to ask for your help, as per materials that could help me in studying programming.

I know a bit about CMS, joomla specifically, as i can use it to design different types of website. But as per programming, i don't know anything, so please consider in your response that am a total newbie. Thanks in anticipation for your response.
