Nigerian defender Festus Baise served up a quite spectacular strike past his goalkeeper during Sun Hei SC's 3-2 defeat at the hands of Citizen AA in the Hong Kong first division on Friday.

Some have described it as a reverse scorpion kick, like Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita's save against England in 1995.

This is the problem of new generations of Nigeria footballers they simply can not play. Dam useless from Michel Obi to Ayegbeni they are dam hopeless, I agree when the slowpoke president when he suspended them from international matches the other time.

i saw d goal and it has to be d best own goal. He was not under any real pressure;he was far from goal ; and he used his head wonderfully.textbook finishing.

During the USA 1994 world cup qualifiers, a South Korean midfielder (name unremembered) scored 3 own goals in one match!! Also at the France 1998 world cup, Bafana Bafana's Pierre Isa scored 2 own goals against France or so!! Not to be left out, our own Godwin Odiye scored a remarkable own goal to knock Nigeria out of the 1978 world cup qualifiers!!!
Andre Escobar wasn't as lucky as any of these guys though as he was shot to death in downtown Bogota after knocking out Colombia from USA '94 with his own goal against the hosts!!!
But this Baise guy, absolutely stunning!!!!!! If you stake a zillion dollars on him getting that kick right again in a lifetime, he wouldn't possibly win the prize.
