from what you said, the ball will only deccelerate when it hits another surface, Well, I'd advice you to include height in your factors for decceleration which can easily be implemented with newton laws of motion, And probably momentum if u intend to have more than one ball in your simulation,

I think my only crime is I misspelt 'deceleration', Other than that I see no other fault, I would have been wrong if I had given you a formulae for deceleration. So your correction was undue.
From wat you are saying, at any instance in your bouncing ball simulation, acceleration = 0, which means the ball will be in constant motion once it is launched, If that is the case then all you have to worry about is bouncing pattern, And that kills the fun for me,

While I see elasticity of the ball, I do not see where that affects its shape on collision. The ball should deform on impact, I think you should integrate the equation of the ellipse into the balls drawing code. That should make it look more realistic.

Nice project, tho. Loving it.

Thanks. But I already intend to do that. That's what I meant by fine-tuning. I don't need to integrate anything since I already have all the equations. Deformation, restitiution, and under-damping are the next step. I'd love to leave that as an exercise to the readers, but I do not trust NLers grin. Dem no go do am.

Na true jare! Lol!
I really like the way you are going about the coding and commenting every step. Keep it up, bruv.

He does have a lovely way of writing codes. . .i love that too, i hope to learn it someday if it is not too late.

@omo_to_dun: Nice tutorial. Could you do one on springs?

I'm looking for ideas on implementing rope swings and grapple hooks in games.

PS: If you also have links to legally free books given by their authors, post here: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-848424.0.html I've posted two on vectors and trigonometry.

@*dhtml: sup?

How are you creating the agent/team path for the ludo game you're creating? I don't want to use a manual array of predefined paths but I haven't been able to come up with the algorithm for the path either.
