The swelling produced by poor blood circulation could have been as a result of previous trauma which may reduce

oxygen supply to tissues or organs like skin, mussles and bones. Many other known and unknown neuro-vascular

disorders would also cause circulation problems. In CRPS/RSD (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy), swellings

caused by poor blood flow would make the nerve endings extremely sensitive and resulting in pains of various

intensity. The pains could be bearable or totally unbearable or crippling.

Different medical or surgical procedures are currently being applied to reduce pains. Many of these are

cumbersome and provide little or no benefit and some are toxic or may cause addiction or other side effects.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot) is currentlly being used with success to revers many of the symptoms and provide a

better relief for sufferers of RSD/CRPS (reflex sympathetic dystrophy/complex regional pain syndrom). Some

of these sufferers have regained their normal functions.

More info on hbot can be found on the internet.
