Damn it i cant remember

It was just after the ASUU strike of 1992. Remember my dad who is a hardman type of guy shedding loads of tears when I left the house to the unknown.

Hit school, stayed with a friend. Decided to move around to see the school a little, and blundered into a female hostel. Remembered a very cold look and reply I got from a female student when I asked her what hostel that was. Later found out this lady was a Deeper Life girl (her behaviour was not befitting of a Christian I must confess and it ticked me  off).

Next day, went to student affairs and discovered I had been posted to a hostel reserved for the notorious cult guys in my school. Basically tried to stay out of trouble, and avoided girls because at that time in Naija, the use of condoms was not widespread and there were no drugs for HIV, so abstinence was the answer.

Still can't believe it is 20 years now.

Men my first time in sch was so funny. While i entered d sch premises (OAU) I was anxiously n excitedly lookn at d structures, environment nd students which so much naive. Twas so obvious dt i was a fresh student.

My first day on campus: hmmmmm, . I was welcomed with a gun shot from some system boiz during a frat feud , two hours later, i told my parents that i don't wanna school there anymore, i was advised to stay with a relation , when i got to his lodge some misguided chairmen came and rob us off our stuff including my fresh garri and my brand new adidas sneakers

i know say God still dey punish those OLE!

Ah my first day in the uni. I had come from that day with the intention of leaving that same day. So I just wanted to pick up some forms, the admission letter, do what I can for that day and go back home. Intending to go back and forth like that till I secured an apartment near th campus and move.

I had come in that day looking all fly and glamorous like a fashion model strutting on the runaway. I was wearing a black net top and a jean. The net top was actual transparent and the jeans was really tight. I cat-walked to the school gate where lots of security personnels were sitting, probably checking for ids or throwing jabs at themselves, I'm not really sure. I ignored them and about to strut to the safety of the school when I hear a mind-numbing "HOLD IT!" It was one of the security people, and he was talking to me. Around me people were busy walking into the school with nobody harassing them.
The security douchebag was a woman. She looked at me and still in the bitter military voice screamed "GO BACK!" Why? I asked even more perplexed. You cannot wear that ( she eyed my outfit with disdain) and enter here. I said "why" and I suddenly became invisible to her. I kept asking why, and she continued ignoring me. With shame and embarrassment and gawking onlookers I turned back and headed home. Apparently, there was some dress code thing (which I knew nothing about) going on.

I came back the next day properly dressed, and watched as some poor girl was harassed by the same security guard. I smiled and walked in.

I got my admission list late, so by d time i got to school, registration of courses had started. I was with my course when i rushed into a lecturers office without knocking. Right in front of me was mojo in reality, lecturer and a 3rd yr female student. Instead of immediately excusing myself, i was just shocked still staring @ what i saw, till d lecturer shouted at me. Bad part was i carried over d guys course (phy), i had to beg in my yr 2 to pass d course.

After having lectures on my first day, i had to take a campus shuttle back to my private hostel becos i stayed off-campus. There wasn't a single campus shuttle on sight at that time and the crowd of students was so much. You know for the 1st time I didnt realise the distance from the campus to my private hostel back in town was extremely far, so i decided to trek. . . I almost fainted on the way. LOL. . I didnt even reach half the journey at all. . . Fortunately for me i broaded a bike, of which the bikeman charged me much but i didnt hav a choice. . . Will neva ever try that again!

My first time on campus was when i went for ma post ume, I was dropped off, and had to walk into d convocation arena, I waited while other depArtments where called, Some guys called me from behind, dey all had timberland shoes and some kinda baggy jeans, Big 05 tops and had beards, I'm sure dey were also post ume guys hu wanted to mock me, I innocently answerd as i was too scared of d unknown, Den dey started sayin shiiit about me standing infront of dem, And stuff, I quickly apologised and changed my location, Tryin to go further than their eye sight, I'm sure dey ddnt pass d post-ume!! If dem try me now, na upth dem go land

My first day on campus was indescribable. Having trekked from main gate all the way to 'SUB', admissions, and then faculty of arts, and then faculty of social sciences - I was intrigued by the sights and sounds of high calibre babes and big boys. Kai. When UI was UI. Come and see chicks left right and centre. I was just trekking aimlessly all over the place for the thrill of it, and I remember running into two of my secondary school pals as we jambitos were looking for places to photocopy this or submit that, and we formed an instant partnership. Lol. It was incredible. Later that same day I started looking for off-campus accommodation in Agbowo and encountered all kinds of characters - it seemed there were more students living in Agbowo then than on the main campus. See voluptuous chicks and bad ass guys everywhere. I immediately realised that I was in for the most exciting years of my life.

my first day in campus was realy bad, as a newly admitted student i went into the busury office to change my teller to receipt,i met a guy discussing abt school fees,the guy said Esut tuition is 150K, I was shockd, cus i thought the fee was lyk 50k or less, then i askd the guy is this ESUT? the guy lookd at me and said''boy commot joor''i so dispointed dt i nearly gave up. Bt one girl called me nd said dt i shuld go on nd shouldnt listen to any body.

My first day on campus was kind of fuuny, I remembered been led to d pavilion hall for registration like a baby because I was a jambito and didnt know the place. Later dt day, I bought corn and coke 4 dinner, each time I remember my food combination dt day, I always smile

I wont actually call it my first day in campus, my elder bro was already in unical so i spent like two yrs in the school compound before actually getting my admission.
Already causing trouble with fellow Malabites and it was fun, when i finally got admitted it was a different ball game.

I cannot say I remember this with nostalgia cuz I pretty much hated university. But I remember thinking 'oh man, all the cool stuff I'm gonna learn' but nah, I didn't learn anything like in Discovery channel like I thought I would

i got slapped on my first day at Nnamdi Azikiwe University by Anti-Cults, wat was my offence? i was in front of the line, waiting to do my clearance, they asked us to move back, i was trying my best to move back. But people from behind were still pushing forward (crowd was much). All of a sudden one useles anti cult guy came from no where and landed a hot slap on my face, i felt my ear ringing. Chai, that day was also the most embarrassing day of my life on campus. The useles people pushing from behind now stopped pushing and everyone cooled down. i will never forget that idiot's face, still looking forward to messing him up one day, i have eventually let it go sha.

Since that day till i graduated i maintained o! Never had any issue that led me to anticult's office (for fighting in ur off campus hostel, if u're reported, anti cult will invite you) , u dear not mess with them.

i'm glad i'm no more there, even heard that some of them are cultists sef.

yea, had to walk all the way to admin block after doing lots of photocopies, got to the siwes unit just to be told that my department i.t list has not been sent to the i.t ofice, wait a minute, that was when i returned from i.t. Ooops, i cant remember my first day at school! ei don tey

I can never forget my first and last day on campus, As a freshman, my elder brother brot me to school to introduce me to his friend to "TAKE CARE" of me n not let any harm come my way, Unfortunatley, as we were in the school canteen, my brother n his friend noticed some funny movement. Me, a 16year old jjc, i just dey lem my rice and plantain. My brother now told me that no matter what happens, i shouldnt run, screem or look at anyone dat does anything funny. I was still confused at what he said and was about asking him what he meant when i heard the loudest knochout sound i had heard in my life, and my ears started ringing bells. It took me 5mins for me to get my self and i found out that the person that was eating beside me was shot and my clothes were stained in his blood. I was still seated, but my spirit had already ran to my parents house. wallahi, i piss for body, same shootings and killings happened during my matric, even when i went to collect my statement of result, someone was killed at the school gate and his toe cut off. During all these killings, i never had pity on the murderd boys, it was their parents who suffered to raise them that i cried for, But i never regret attending my one and only LASU! , lol

Was on campus twice for p.u.m.e.s sha. Buh the main one was the third year wen I got admitted;
landed in the school gate. The school bikes rushed the bus I took up just to get a passenger to carry home. I felt lika VIP. Two bikers came to me, helped me offload my bags. Not knowing I left a whole ghana-must-go bag inside d car. The ghana must go contained my foodstuffs,iron,trowley,shoes,dvd palyer, stove, and many lot more. I took d two bikes home to a friend's friend house. I didnt even remember I misplaced a bag till like 9:00pm! Men! [b] I was shocked beyond recognition [\b] . Just the moment, I picked up the phone and told my mum I lost a bag! She was like {I told u to write all ur stuffs in a list so dat u can check wen u get homa @sku}.
I was like {dat doesnt matter, how can I get my bag back na} .
Different thoughts flying tru my mind. Food stuffs GONE! and d only shoe I'm left wit is the one on my leg, I was like OMG! so dis is what I will be nicknamed wit in class (one shoe) . Lawd, is this the hell school is all about?? I wished sometin cud just take me home and I shud forget all about sku!! Anyways, mum called me again and reassured DIA SHALL BE NO LOST and I shud pray dat at midnight. I rushed down to d bike guys dat nit nd in the morni. Argue to hell! with the two okada guys dat took me home dat dey dropped my bag for anoda bike to take away. I told God dat midnit, LAWD, WHOEVER IS WIT MY BAG SHUD NOT HAVE D REST OF MIND TILL MY BAG GETS TO MY HAND OOO. In a nutshell. I found the bag the following day. INTACT! A student dat we journeyed together took it home for me sha. And reported to d park wea we took d bus. And dey told my mum about dat wen she got dia d next day . . . .

Rotflmao. Some guys gave real funny stories here. So funny I'm bursting out laughing. Guy here with me thinking I'm not okay.

Cant really remember the details but i know my mum was the one who brought me to school sha.

First time i'd ever been on my own in my whole life.

She sat in my room while i unpacked my meager belongings and then waited till some of my roommates arrived before she left finally.

I think that very day, my roommates (whose mums also left after escorting them to their rooms), took me out to eat. Some of them were a bit familiar with oau since they already had relatives and siblings there. So did i , but the ones i knew werent around then and others i wasnt familiar with.

was a bit surprised, the only negro student in my set though some weeks later I met another - a senior; can't remember seeing any other negro in that city of the sunshine state.

November 2008, i went to get the basic programme form, first i went to bank to pay for the form after which i was to go to cafe to print my form, but i was lost that it was confusing but some how i located the road and went to the cafe. The processing that would have been done for #500 the cafe attendant collected #2000, when i later found out i was not happy cos i was cheated.

My first day in the university precisely EKSU campus....was during the post- ume exam then Having to move down from the town to the main gate down to the lecture theater. It was a wonderful day seeing big boys, the beautiful,and big landscape the school campus is very large looking @ the SUG building faculty of science social science etc it was a wonderful experience. All these attracted me to the university
