I laugh @ this set of 11 players. You won't even pass the group stage of UCL
true
United still need two central midfielders with good enough pace & a young goal scorer as CF.

defenders are not bad, I won't really care if LvG signs no CB. they just need to stay fit & establish a unit.
any combination of Jones-Smalling-Rojo can be formidable with game time.

The real threat left is Palace. After Chelsea end Arsenal's streak this weekend, their confidence may wane a bit
LVG can capitalize on that, provided they're on a winning run.
Under Pardew, Selhurst Park, is now a place where giants die

and he anchors on the 33years soon to be 34 years old carrick.

he cant keep up. what rvp is still doin on bench beats my imag
Well players that are maybe available right now in DM are Gundogan & Strootman. I'd still pick Carrick in majority of our matches over those two. RVP is meant to be a squad player. Apart from Hernandez, which other striker dey again??
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 8:44pm On May 07, 2015
I'm so happy we have started doing our business as early as possible. DePay in...who's next? Hummels & Gundogan probably according to reports. Let's focus on finishing in top 4.

Rooney is still with us, albeit not indispensable like before. we were only making a case for his proper deployment in the team even if some fans take it overboard or misinterpret simple opinion grin

di Maria is not for sale. he's been a victim of his price tag & a new system.
his numbers are still respectable, so hopefully the real di Maria stands up next season!

guys dont over rate depay like that o. Is not up to dimaria, harzard or sanchex level yet . Is just above januza and zaha maybe above nani a little. Manutd fans kind download and watch his football skills and goals before rating him.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by weedtaker: 10:50am On May 08, 2015
Nobody is overrating him, he's just a brilliant player at 21, and we're just showing appreciation for van gaal's quick act on the transfer market. But wait o, a winger winning a golden boot in a league campaign is something special na, only ronaldo and messi are the wingers i know that have done that. So he deserves the praise we are showering him.

Prayer praises and overhyping of a manager's quick transfer dealing, like it is a new thing! cheesy

Scummies are now content with above instead of trophies grin

Dude, the dutch league is absolutely piss poor, don't come and sell us that nonsense about winning a golden boot as a winger

We were made to believe Falcao would set the EPL alight. If you like don't get only Memphis Depay also get Tennessee Depay.

how many fans are interested in more than two European leagues @ once? its very common unless the team you support is outside England & Spain. how many United fans saw Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson, Hernandez, Bebe, Vidic etc save the odd game before they arrived in Manchester?

there's a reason scouts are paid handsomely wink

Van Gaal rules Carrick out for the season

Louis van Gaal has confirmed to MUTV that Michael Carrick will not play again this season because his injury is worse than first thought.

The vice-captain suffered an injury in the closing stages of last month’s 4-2 win over Manchester City and has subsequently missed the Reds’ three consecutive defeats against Chelsea, Everton and West Bromwich Albion in the Barclays Premier League.

The good news is that Luke Shaw is available to face Crystal Palace on Saturday after recovering from the slight problem that kept him out of the match against the Baggies. Jonny Evans is also available, although the boss says he doesn’t have “match rhythm”.

"Carrick is not available, it was more heavy than we thought," van Gaal told MUTV. "We tried everything but now we have to think about next season. He shall not play anymore this season, it's better now to focus for him on next season and being fit to start.

"When you see the stats, it's clear that he's very important but that's also because we have only right-sided holding midfielder.
That's what I am saying already in the whole of the season, that our selection is not balanced, and I want to restore that in the next transfer period. The life is not ending at 34, but for a professional football player, it's close by. That's why I have to handle again in that position."

On other injuries, the boss said: "Evans and Shaw can play football or the game. Evans doesn't have the match rhythm as he was injured for six weeks and after that he was suspended for six weeks, and after that he was injured. He needs match rhythm."

Meanwhile, Marcos Rojo is on his way back to full fitness and James Wilson could be among the substitutes after recovering from illness. "There is a virus in our dressing room so it's difficult to say," revealed van Gaal. "He is already a little bit ill for one week but now he is recovering so I think he could be on the bench."

To see the full exclusive interview with Louis van Gaal, watch The Manager's Press Conference show at various times on MUTV including 14:00, 16:00, 18:30 and 22:30 BST. MUTV subscriptions are available on Sky | Virgin Media | UPC.

Who can explain the bold part? Is he talking about a right footer DM?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 12:42pm On May 08, 2015
perhaps he's trying to settle on a 4-2-3-1 for next season. the only left footed DMs I can think of are Strootman & Kondogbia.

Carrick himself should be replaced.

Think he's referring to Herrera that was playing on the right during Carrick's presence.

So maybe he'd find a holding midfielder that would play on the left.

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 2:14pm On May 08, 2015
Carrick missing the rest of the season is a huge loss. Definitely need a defensive midfielder/deep lying playmaker this summer. We simply cannot rely on an increasingly injury prone 34 yr old no matter how important to the team he is.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by A40(m): 2:23pm On May 08, 2015
Depay is a fantastic signing! Woulda loved him at Bayern.

He's at a crucial age now where coaching and his attitude would determine whether he gets to the next level. If all goes well you are looking at an 8-10 year ninja

Looks like y'all mean business
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 2:27pm On May 08, 2015
Memphis Depay is perfectly suited to Manchester United, according to the club’s former coach Rene Meulensteen.

Meulensteen believes his fellow countryman will prove a hit in the Premier League.

“It is a very promising signing for Manchester United, he is another one that comes off the conveyor belt of Holland that has produced many good players over the years. And I think he is a typical Manchester United player.

“The biggest advantage for Memphis coming to Man United is Louis van Gaal being there. He knows him, he had him as a player in the national team, and he knows exactly how he is going to use him.

“I can see Man United moving to a 4-3-3 and he is a typical winger who can play on either side. He has got a great combination of power and strength and pace. He is very, very quick. If you have got pace, especially in a strong league like the Premier League, it is a great asset to have.”

DePay is highly welcome. cheesy Memphis is going to repay us very handsomely. Yori Yori.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SetrakusRa(m): 3:14pm On May 08, 2015
^^ isn't that the same former coach that said Depay shouldn't sign for United?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 3:37pm On May 08, 2015
lekkie073 and Coogar would have argued that Depay doesn't have power if it were me who said it. Oya you guys should come and argue with Man United former trainer. Coogar come and say something now or forever remain silent. grin

Meanwhile, I just finished watching some of his clips, I think the guy is trying. He improved his game so much this season as compared to old clips. He will surely bite oppositions defence.
