I've been called an "Internalized Racist" before.

Growing up in the midwest.Detroit to be precise. It's only if you've lived through discrimination that you can understand what the African American communities had to endure.
Detroit is a basket case of redlining at its worst and the impact of lobbying the government to break prosperous communities.
I can't go into details but Detroit had a history of racial violence that lead to the "white flight" in the 1960s'
The African American communities were never forgiven.
Most of these things are better experienced than explained.

Your experiences shape your opinions.
Someone that grew up in a diverse cosmopolitan location may have a different opinion.
But one thing is clear. I never knew I was black until I got to America.


Today Detroit is gentrified. Most blacks have become priced out of the new urban renewal going on.
Dan Gilbert(the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers) owns nearly all the buildings in the city.
It's now more white than I am used to. And most businesses are either owned by arabs or whites

I don't think conservative policies plundered the economy, there was a bubble that was going to eventually pop due to the way the global lending system works with regards to finance.

When I talk about conservatism, I'm interchangeably talking about both trad values and fiscal conservatism.

I could argue about lower co operation taxes and how it benefits job creation, as well the need to maintain regional hegemon through different channels like wars etc.

Trump has done nothing that benefits black Americans per se, if you classify policies that "benefit" lower income groups as those that benefit them.

Trump is doing his utmost to repeal the ACA, which is flawed admittedly, but is so far the only thing Americans have that provides some form of a shield against medical bankruptcy.

Abolishing the federal Department of Education is a key Republican plan, and Trump is currently actively diverting funds from the public school system (which benefits poorer citizens) to school choice programs.

It was actually Clinton who started welfare reform in 1996, with the imposition of work requirements and limitation of benefits.

Trickle-down economics too is crap.
Reagan was economically illiterate.
Making the rich richer does not trickle down to raise the working class up.
In America, the rich get richer and the working class are replaceable and so forth.
The gig economy and the battle against unionisation now being pushed vigorously through a conservative Supreme Court (check out the ruling in Janus vs. AFSCME, for instance) all tend to enhance inequality in America.

There is a reason why enlightened societies departed from capitalism and embraced socialism and America is a good example of capitalism at its worst.

This is the 21st century, but the relentless buildup of an underclass, of whatever racial composition, can have the same effects as it had in the 19th or early 20th centuries, in terms of the alienation of those left behind.

And here's the anecdote on why it's not a color thing. The all- or mostly-black Nubians of present day Sudan. They revered the Egyptians who were their neighbors and rivals. In my own areas of Lagos about 60% of the youths are into betting, gambling, drugs, yahoo yahoo, alcoholism, crime, cult, prostitution and other vices. I can't say much about other areas

Same pigmentation as the rest of us. Would you consider them inferior or less intelligent?

If not, then our skin color shouldn't be the "problem." If you think they are, you just entered the mind of the average Caucasian/Asian/Arab Supremacist.

Now, consider this thought exercise, if there were several tribes at the same developmental level as the Koma and Jibu and you aggregated them to form a country/nation: How quickly do you think they'd be able to build a Singapore?

Do you think they'd be able to skip all of the issues endemic to current sub-Saharan African countries?

I suppose it's interesting that while the rest of us are building skyscrapers, traveling in planes, using phones; we have neighbors residing in the same country who are stuck in the Neolithic. In 2020 no less.

Now extrapolate that over hundreds and thousands of years. And skin color or superiority/inferiority themes fade into the background.

We have to realize where we were when the Europeans and Islamists came relative to the dominant powers then; where we are now relative to the current powers; and where we want to be as well as what it'd take.

More importantly, we should understand that we don't have the luxury to dilly-dally, formulate and christen excuses, or keep stumbling over ourselves. WWII ended less than 100 years ago. The US, Russia, and China fought on the same side. Today, they're on each other's throats.

All it takes is one mistimed move or error, and there'd be a Berlin Conference 2.0. Heaven help the African Americans. Dem fil say dem don suffer? Small testing the microphone when China do with COVID; who e affect pass for US? Blacks ba?!

And this applies to all blacks: Stop coming up with reasons why you can't make progress. Adopt a "whatever it takes" mindset.

Whilst i agree that victim hood leads no where, you must be dreaming to think things operate on a level playing field where you hypnotise yourself to greatness without the powers that be putting you back in your place.
