I am very sure people where being shot at, the Military did a good job to cover by removing the CCTV Cameras and turning of all lights before shooting at the protesters, I actually cried when I saw the videos of the protesters singing the National Anthem while being shot at, it was painful, as at now the hospitals are filled with injured protesters, it okay if you didn't see it and don't want to believe, however, a host of Nigerians followed up with the incident

For some reasons personal reasons some people have decided to continue fanning the ember of violence. Eventually it will affect the fire have started in earnest. For those abroad, there are safe but they still have relatives. For us at home, let us all brace up anyone can get caught up in the situation as things are now getting out of hands especially in Lagos.

Guys please stop bringing stories from Nairaland Politics Section to Nairaland Investment Section.

Please stay in those threads and have your discussions there.

Everybody has Instagram, Twitter,Facebook, Whatsapp to get update on what is happening in Nigeria.

There is no difference between those burning down governemtn properties in lagos and those doing everything possible to destroy an investment thread in Nairaland.

Well, everybody has the right and I encourage everyone to voice out how they feel about the ongoing situation in the country and environs.

I see no politics in these, as long as the conversation is not castigating any tribe or supporting any political party.

Voicing out and saying how you feel makes the house situationally aware and when you're situationally aware, you're a sense-maker.

A sense-maker connects the dots, constructs a coherent picture of what's going on and most importantly, identifies relationships among items rather than viewing elements in isolation.

This is important in making investments decisions in this unstable clime.

A huge part of learning is being open to constructive criticism and arguments.

The government is joking with the angry citizens
Curfew was declared in Edo
It has been disobeyed

The one in Lagos may also be disobeyed
And woe betide anyone who shoots in the open protesters in large numbers because of curfew...

The government MUST do something tangible NOW before things fall apart kpata kpata

They still think this is a joke

Even policy making has been discussed here

Even BBNaija (the usefulness or the lack of it) has been discussed here

The conversations here have been fluid

Pure fact

SteveOfu:
E DEY SHOCK YOU?

You locked people down for three months without any palliatives and made them go hungry even as they heard how governments of other countries put in place measures to mitigate the effect of the lockdown. They kept silent.

You closed borders about a year ago claiming sufficiency in food production locally. The people watched as rice raced beyond the reach of the common man, beans dragged price with gold and Garri became a rich man's food. They stomached this hunger and wish succour would come, but no, VAT was increased on consumables thereby increasing prices of food commodities.

You grinned as the people groan, they were not happy with you as you implement your anti-people policies. They waited and cry as they hear billions spent on SCHOOL-FEEDING DURING SCHOOL CLOSURE, they stomached it and waited patiently.

You thought the best gift after lockdown and it's attendant economic effects on the people is to increase FUEL PRICE and ELECTRICITY TARIFFS. The people made attempts to register their displeasure but NO, you shouted them down unleashing your agents to rein them in, yes they did and the people went home and yet waited.

Now they saw an opportunity in #ENDSARS, they came in large numbers, you tried but failed to scatter them.

They saw how jittery you are and knew that you are not as hard as you look, they exerted more blows and you are shouting what more do they want?

This fight is beyond #ENDSARS it is a call for justice and a LOUD EXPRESSION of our displeasure with the cluelessness you give us as governance.

If you succeed in dispersing the protesters now, you have only postponed the inevitable for another DAY.

NIGERIA NEEDS TO BE REFORMED, NOT SOON BUT THIS SOON

Not supporting violence at all but this shows how sentimental u people can be! Most of these were destroyed after provoking the protesters by shooting them. I was busy praising the government the other day for using wisdom not to attack the protesters as such will escalate the tension but little did u know that the government has another plans. How on earth do you expect to kill protesters and expect them not to retaliate? What is it about all these Lagos sef? "who told u that it's only in Lagos that properties are destroyed? Of course people died more in Lagos so that explains why more properties r destroyed in Lagos. Is that rocket science to understand ?

Houses, LG secretariat and the Town hall were burnt in Aba today. Shops were looted and razed
In PH a police station was burnt.
Stop this your parochial view of life.
When the soldiers shot at people they did not ask who was Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba. All they saw was masses and authority. The protests have been going on peacefully for two weeks. Even when hoodlums attacked the protesters it was not violent until NA stepped in and systematically killed peope. The hotel that the sniper was located belongs to a yoruba man. Use your tongue to count your teeth, but most importantly, use your head.

It seems you and your cohorts running your mouth like an open running tap don't understand what Police/Sars brutality is?

Sometime around last year, i got extorted of 60k by this men in black out of the 80k available balance in my account. This is just one out of so many harassment I have gotten and what did I do? Nothing beside looking good.

This experience wasn't funny and I was traumatized.

The 80k I had then was supposed to be used for my final year research and design project.

I know the police station division and if I see those set of police I am sure I'll be able to recall one or two of their faces and if I was in presently in the state I schooled, believe me you when I say I'll make an attempt with other youths to burn down that police station units that extorted me.

The trauma and anger the victims get when extorted by Sars cannot be completely described by words especially when its your first time you're getting harassed.

Lots of my school mate has slept in cell even during exam period for doing nothing other than having no money to bribe them because they look good.

It got to a point my school CSO and Sug president had to go to some of this station to know exactly what is their problem.

So when I say the youths has endured this trauma for a long time and the killings of peaceful protesters on Tuesday brought out that rage that was already at the peak looking for an ignition to make it explode.

The only reason our fight will be in vain is, if police brutality is not put to an end and the government in all levels is not restructure.

It's past 24hrs the mayhem at lekki occurred and it is so disheartening that Buhari is yet to address the nation and most importantly the youth.

They took 52k in my wallet and left me with only 500 Niara at Asaba and i was going to Lagos, my offence was ridding a clean car and having tinted glass with original tinted permit which they claimed was fake, they also claimed that smiliar car was used to kidnap a government official in the neigbouring state the previous day, this is how they put allegation on you to make sure they apply maximum extortion.
