Job Objective
 Design, planning and optimization of Core Network to achieve a cost effective and optimal core network design; good level of service and core network quality.
 Facilitate technical and strategic partnership with other networks for national Interconnect and Carrier relationships.

Principal Duties and Essential Job Functions

• Ensure the NSS network is designed and deployed in the most cost effective and efficient manner with capacity headroom ahead of subscriber growth.
• Produce, manage and update the technology integrated network plan. Design and develop technical solutions to support Marketing’s product development and VAS plan.
• Manage the planning and implementation of the carrier services function ensuring adequate capacity is provided for interconnect with other telecoms operators.
• Manage the carrier services function with respect to the company’s international gateway services.
• Ensure that the core and intelligent network (IN) is sufficiently dimensioned to support the BSS architecture and efficient services delivery.
• Ensure timely delivery of features and functionality within the NSS as stated in the INP.
• Prepares product specifications for a new VAS or performance features in the NSS environment.
• Ensure adequate tools and performance management systems are available for net work optimization.
• Facilitate and co-ordinate the technical aspects of national interconnect/ carrier between MTS and other national operators/ carriers.
Essential Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
• Team leadership; people skills
• Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Office applications
• Project Management Skills
• Vendor Management Skills
• Network Planning Modelling Tools, spreadsheet design and statistical analysis
• Knowledge of telecomms sys.
• Signalling systems- C7, INAP/MAP/TCAp etc
