dont assume the infection is gone. it may have gone underground and still cause some serious damge. you will need to run some tests such as urine m/c/s, semen analysis etc. you did not say specifically what kind of infection you contacted.

its important you go to the hospital for a proper treatment to avoid a chance having sterility in future.
