There is definitely a challenge this year and thats probably why the test was conducted late. But at least the test has been conducted unlike PTDF. I hope that challenge will not affect the scholarship implementation for 2013/2014 session. I wish they were more open with information to save anxiety. A little more openess & transparency would do no harm. Also hope they could make some assistance available to help successful scholars get admission considering the time/deadlines. 1. Different areas in telecoms include wireless comm, data comm & networing, satellite comm, optical comm, Signal Processing etc. Each of them is broad and they could also be related. Some specific/narrowed down areas include cognitive radio, LTE/4G wireless comm, Cloud computing, modulation, AI, pattern recognition, Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things etc etc. By the way Computer Engg/Science is also very related and intertwined with Telecoms

2. Doing a PhD means moving towards a research based careeer which may not be lucrative compared to working in industry. The best bet is to focus on one. You need to be focused on research to be good at it, you need to also love it. One incentive is that you are contributing to d development of knowledge in your field and by extension making the world a better place. Lots and lots of money will come if you focus on a business career not research. Researchers just need to be comfortable not excessively wealthy. A good researcher may not have plenty money, but will have recognition, respect from people. It is important to have focus, know what you were born to do, be original, give your best in all you do and honour God. Its beyond money consideration.

Something is begginning to tell me that this prolonged delay may be used to manipulate things. Last yrs scholars wrote theirs manually and from what people said, Dr Cleophas single handedly marked the scripts,albeit painstakingly. The reults were released in 30 days. This year's was more automated. It was computer marked and we saw our scores that same day. Now anyone in his right senses would know that something fishy is in the pipeline. Or how can we xplain the incessant delay? I can assure the people in chargee that no irregularity will go unpunished. God will fight our battles for us.

List is out, total of 6 Phds. As for msc its 2 perstate making it 74. Nitda shouls be rechristened shitda. Ended in an anticlimax after all this weeks of waiting. Wasn't worth the wait @all. Waste of my time and money..I remember one of their staff told their phd slots had been increased to one per state.

The successful ones have been advised to converge @ their office on the 14th of this month for screening. Congrats to those who got it.

I did matlab in my msc, its the language Engineering students use to communicate in the uk. I work more with cisco/huawei routers. Also work on nec radios, saf radios and lots of other technologies. I think globacom is recruiting atm, walk down to their idejo office and drop your resume. God bless
