Is The Educational Level In Nigeria Declining When Compared To Years Back? by Miroslavklose: 8:05pm On Mar 30, 2012
Im typing this post with great grief.
I read about the mass failure in NECO and the not too good performances in last Saturday's JAMB exam

For God's sake, during our time(not too long ago), there was nothing like (the useless) BB ping or facebook/other Social Medias that's destroying our youths today. All they talk about is parties, clubbing, watching Tv. There's nothing wrong in watching TV, but are they watching educating programmes or Big Brother Africa, Nigerian Idols, Soap operas etc that adds little or no values to pple's lives?

Some youths over 20 yrs will hardly make a meaningful sentence whilst commenting on Social Medias. Yahoo yahoo is now the order of the day coupled with reality shows BS(nothing wrong with reality shows).

Back then NTA gave us kidivison 101, Tales by moonlight, Storyland etc. We we loved watching TV for good reasons. Now 'we' watch TV for the wrong reasons.

What do u think will become of our education system if things continues in this absurd manner?

BTW who do we Blame? The parents/Guardians that refuses to check the welfare of their wards?
The teachers that turns into marketers in schools and some of whom are half baked themselves?
Social medias?
GSM network providers for the free night calls? the youths themselves that have chosen the path of destruction? The system in Nigeria that has collapsed almost completely? Our 'theiving' politians? the devil? pastors or religious leaders?

Seriously there was Internet in our own time. I can recall visiting cyber cafe to do assignment in 2002. We browsed the internet for the right reasons and not to watch porn or 'yellow films'

For those reading this, we should try hence forth to play our part in building the nation.

No matter how u view this subject, 'what goes around will surely come around'

The time to effect the change(s) is now.

i rest my case

You can say that again, not only education that is witnessing decline. All other sector is also. You will be surprise by the yearly statistic being release by waec and neco year in, year out. It really calls for sober reflection as to what brought us to this pitiable condition.
