That terminology "cutoff" is a bit ambiguous and is pretty confusing, 180 was the cutoff for qualifying and so we do not expect to see anybody with a post utme below 180 on the admission list. For the former what is used is relativity in view of population mass and that is where state of origin comes into play. Somebody from the far north with 180 for both post utme and jamb may be on the list and actually be the last person then the department will say cutoff is 180 whereas there are people with 250 from the host state who are not there.

Look at it again from the angle of probability when you have balls in a bag and you select 1 then you add more balls and select another, the probability then varies. Your aggregate of 218.5 put you at about position 40 from which 25 people were selected remaining 15 and that was first choice. Now second choice would be added to the mix and lets assume 25 people scored better you are still on position 40 then they select again another 10 and that is the end. Your state of origin being Imo state does not help matters, after Rivers State the next quantum is Imo so technically your better off trying other departments like computer science, physics or bad as e bad education computer science.

I asked you a question about my score 208 ptume and 221 jamb, but you were commenting on last letters of the reg no. pls. what does last letters of jamb reg has to do with one's admission. does it matter, b/c the way you sound, it seems it matters. Pls. what are my chances with my score.

This 2012 first list for engineering faculty to be specific, was all about upgrading.. Those candidates whose name came out upgraded their scores.. If you doubt me check the list and copy the jamb no. Then check their result you would see that most of them got within ranges of 288 n 272..
While their jamb was nt up to 250..
Isn't it suspicious they got 288 in 2O mins and not up to 250 in 3hrs..
Moreover reports say the exam was hard and mass failure for the faculty..
GOD WILL JUDGE THOSE UPGRADERS ACCORDINLY..
