I took my car for a gear oil seal replacement and in the process the torque converter was also replaced because it was though that the leakage was from there.After getting a new converter and recoupled to the gear box the oil leak continued.It was then suggested by a mechanic in lagos that it was the gear oil seal that should have been changed.He bought one for me from lagos and sent it to abuja,it was done and the oil leakage seized but another problem came up.I noticed that when driving the car it suddenly jerks when am trying to accelerate or decelerate at a particular speed.I took it for a scan and it said gear 4 incorrect ratio.I was introduced to another gear mechanic who said the valve body should be checked.The valve body was removed and cleaned and fixed back only for the car to have the sudden sharp jerk as usual.It was the adviced to change the valve body completely.Another one was used to test the car and it came out worse.All the shift gear in the dashboard screen all came up immediately when the car was started.I had to drive it home using the manual gear since the one that came with my car could not be replaced due to time.Could the torque converter changed by my earlier mechanic be the source of the problem or should i buy another valve body?any suggestions will be appreciated.

In a VW, that's definitely internal damage for the transmission.
If you didnt have that issue before the repair then you can chalk that up to another botchy job done by a Nigerian mechanic.
It's not likely anything other than a transmission replacement will help

@nissparts.....thanks for the advice...just came back from the mechanic shop.I am even contemplating selling the car off totally.After spending close to 200k to fix an oil leak only to get a transmission problem,i think i will just sell the car off and count my losses.thanks

nku080......its a v6 glx 4 motion just came in November from u.s.The car drove smoothly until a mechanic touched it .The body is as clean as it came the first day.what are you willing to pay for it?I just ordered for oxygen sensors from u.s,should arrive any moment from now.Would load a pic if u are truly interested

If you need gear box, then call me. It is cheaper in the U.S. You can ask Biodun about this. Ask for the price in Nigeria and copare it to the price I will give you.

These two support v6 4-motion engine. It cost $550 and $600 each plus $200 to ship it to my house from Minnesotta. Then, it is going to cost $250 to ship one to you in Lagos.
