Nigeria National League Division 1 side Katsina Spotlight have paid 50% percent sign-on fees of their players.

Presenting the money to the players at Dandagoro Quarters in Katsina, the club coordinator Ayuba Umar explained that it has always been the tradition of the club to pay half of the season’s sign-on fees during the mid-season break.

He further revealed that of the 38 million Naira released to the club by the Katsina State government about 12 million naira is being paid to about 72 players, while 3 million Naira will go to the purchase of equipment.

He said the remaining balance will cover match bonuses and other match expenses.

Spotlight are fifth on the eight-team NNL Division 1 A with 13 points.

This weekend they resume the league with a home game against 36 Lions of Lagos.
