Please nairalanders, i want to buy a new laptop but i dont know what model to go for, but i want a laptop that has a standby Battery of atleast 6 hours, atleast 200 gb HDD, and 2gb RAM, but the most important criteria is the Battery aspect...please indicate the model and the price range...Thanks in advance....

@Javanian: You cannot get 6hrs from a laptop battery. Except of course you buy an 8-cell battery. And that is not very cheap and it doesn't charge quickly either. Manufacturers that claim 4hrs and above for an average spec 15.4 inch laptop are not being honest. You have have to switch off your WiFi and reduce your screen brightness to achieve anything close to 4hrs. And then you must not be watching a film. The DVD drive is also not being used.

Even netbooks will not give you more than 4hrs. Your best best is to buy a Samsung Netbook with built-in solar charger for 65K. But then, you should remember that netbooks do not have DVD drives and their screen size is 10 inches; 11 at the most.
