The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), yesterday punctured the celebration of 17-year-old Miss Tolulope Falokun by the Ondo State Government as the best candidate in the May/June 2011 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The examination body said Miss Falokun was neither the best candidate in West Africa, nor in Nigeria, insisting that WAEC best candidates for the sub region and the country had emerged and were honoured at the 60th Annual Council meeting in Abuja on March 27.

Daily Sun gathered that the management of WAEC wasconcerned over the issue and held a crucial meeting on how to tackle the declaration of Falokun as the best candidate in the 2011 WASSCE and would soon take some steps to end the controversy.

Ondo State Government had last week rolled out the drums to celebrate Miss Falokun, formerly of St. Louis Secondary School. She rode on the official vehicle of the state Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Remi Olatubora to the reception in her honour for making the state proud by scoring A1 in nine subjects . She was also awarded scholarship to study Law at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The school authority claimed in some media reports which was corroborated yesterday by the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, that WAEC lauded the state on the emergence of Miss Falokun as the best candidate in the sub region and Nigeria in the 2011 WASSCE.

According to the reports, WAEC, through a letter addressed to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and signed by Mr. Austin Aidokha on behalf of the Head of National Office (HNO) in Nigeria, described her performance as unique.

Well the girl made A1s in all the subjects she sat for. Prolly some people made more A1s or some A1 are more distinct than the others.

Going by the debunking by WAEC, another candidate most certainly also made A1 in all their subjects, but perhaps with a greater % than hers. If she was the best, WAEC will have no problem with her claims. She is likely the best in Ondo State.

So na where the news of the official letter from waec and all come from? Say she make A1 parallel, no be only she go make am nah.

The whole thing looked fishy from the beginning.

my guy or my lady whoever you,quite strange from you,probably the school you went no one had A in a subject in their WAEC not to talk of having A1 in all papers,mind you I went a public school in lagos and in that year 1996,we had one of the best student who emerged from my public school claiming A1 in all nine subjects and those were the days you A1 A2 AA3 C4 C4 C6 P7 P8 and F9 in the same school same year,we had another student in the sciences who scored all As but the lil difference from the other was he scored an A3 in chemistry while the one who had all A's was a commercial studentm
Now my focal point is while some people like you who feel little doing nothing and who wish others who want to do,to fail often don't get to do anything at all in their lifetime,and when they so lazy and tired they want to set up a miracle church,or join the rest of the pot bellied scandalous politicians because while they were very young they never made an attempt to try.
Get yourself something for you own good if you can't match up with the pace before the dawn sets in on you and stop joining the bandwagons of those who don't see success in other peoples hardwork.
