Having a Nairaland app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry won't be a bad idea. I think it will be better because that way, you can get notifications on posts, replies, quotes and stuff like that. Not sure if i'm making any sense but uhhh... undecided What do y'all think? grin
Re: Nairaland App by Maleeq(m): 11:03am On May 10, 2012
This has been several suggested, but the admin (oga Seun), hasn't really welcomed it...yet.

It would be a great if we could get on. Perhaps Seun could put it up as the theme of his next "programmers/coding contest"

Re: Nairaland App by WhoIGoAsk: 10:47pm On May 10, 2012
I can make a simple app for the forum for the Java,Symbian,Android and HTC platform and make it available for download, if Oga Seun is okay with that.
Re: Nairaland App by Seun(m): 12:01am On May 11, 2012
Interesting idea. Until we have that, you can rely on e-mail notifications.

Why must it be from Seun, any programmer here can take it up. I am not one if not would have started working on it long ago. Even if the app is sold, I know users here who will buy.

Thought as much, then ask. I believe he will be kind enough.

hmmn, @ seun so is nairaland 2 tapatalk enabled now?

last time we had this discussion u said nairaland 1 was not and u didnt/couldnt pay for the necessary upgrade

doing the new site, i would have thought you would take advantage of the new stuff to enable the tapatalk plugin.

at least that covers android and iphone users.

Better Apps like the Facebook App are free, so very few people would buy a Nairaland App. Very few Nigerians are in a position to buy apps. They don't have the means of payment, and even if they could pay, why pay for a Nairaland App when Facebook, Twitter, Skype and other social network apps are free??

Seun we are talking of NL not FB or tweeter. Your point is correct but study their marketing plan and mimic it. I strongly believe there are people out there that will pay especially Nigerians in diaspora. If you want to do it, it can be done.
