(ACF)
last
night
met with President Goodluck
Jonathan over increasing attacks
by suspected members of Boko
Haram sect in the North.
Briefing State House
Correspondents after the
meeting, Presidential Spokesman,
Reuben Abati, said leaders of the
ACF have assured the president
of their support in the fight
against the sect.
He said ACF told Jonathan that
the forum has taken steps
toward resolving the issue by
setting up a committee which
will make its report available to
government on completion of its
assignment.
Also speaking, ACF Chairman,
General Jeremiah Useni, said the
forum is in support of the
proposed dialogue with the sect.
He said, “even when you are
fighting with somebody you
have to sit down one day to talk.”
On the recent comments credited
to the Congress for Progressive
Change (CPC) presidential
candidate, Gen. Muhammadu
Buhari, over 2015 election, Useni
said, “I don’t think there is any

does not mean we are fighting,
we are not fighting anybody.”
Abati said Jonathan assured the
northern leaders of
government’s readiness to
collaborate with the forum. Other
members of the forum at the
meeting include former
Inspector General of Police,
Ibrahim Coomasie, former
