If u had to choose between a Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Xterra, which one will u prefer?

Thanks to those who have used either of them or both

1. What is the maintenance cost for each of them like?

2.How expensive is it to keep it on d road?

xTERRA IS FAR CHEAPER EVEN FUEL CONSUMPTION

Sori, havnt used neither so not sure i can give d info u crave 4. But maintainance aside I'll go 4 pathfinder again and again if d offer is replicated 4 me. Far more pretigious than xterra...

i never yet buy anyone but i will prefer pathfder because is fashionable dn xterra

I currently own and drive the 05 Pathfinder SE 4.0 V6. If you are not particular about a 3 row, please go for the Xterra especially when you re looking to save money on maintenance.

The Nissan xTerra is more rugged, saves more fuel and is easier to maintain.
The pathfinder is only faster.

They usually develop little and annoying problems, you can't depend on them and the parts are very expensive.

The older version of the xterra (2003-2004 below) are okay but don't go near the 2005 model and above.

You can confirm from this Nissan Specialist who used to work with Alliance Motors (08035306895 or 070513348983).

Fuel comsumption,road consumption,mechanic consumption,and even human consuption(if he get accident,only few ppl will die) is kinda cool

My mom used a nissan pathfinder for a couple of years & she really never had any major issues besides routine maintenance, have a friend that owns an Xterra & the transmission just went bad and was quoted about $3750 for repairs........

Last year, I was about to buy a Pathfinder-but ended buying Xteraa-here in the USA that is.But I am suprised that @Chuksonu said its fuel consumption is good. How many miles is Benin to Enugu?
Compared to the Ford Explorer the mpg on this Xteraa is terrible, its barely 15 miles per gallon.Or maybe the one that is shipped to Nigeria is modified to enhance its fuel productivity.
Anyway...if anyone is interested in buying one-please let me know-I am planning to ship mine to Nigeria later this year,

I think Nissan Xterra is far cheaper to maintain, that the car i,m currently driving now.

Benin-City to Enugu is about 260km,Enugu to Aninri (Agwu area)LGA, is about 35-40km.If the tank capacity is 70ltrs,then that Nissan's fuel consumption is about 15ltrs per 100km - and that makes you happy? So much for Japanese cars fuel efficiency? Thank God i never really like Japanese vehicles! Often bored driving one.

X-terra is very OK ,it's my present car.i can't say much about pathfinder b'cos i haven't used it .but 4 me, they are both rugged cars on our roads.

I have perused all ya comments on Xtera and Pathfinder. I use xtera and before i bought this suv i visited several Motor mechanic in PH to really know if what am going for is really good. Most of the workshop i went to i find pathfinders having one engine problems or the other. I found out that whether pathfinder or xtera the engine is what matters there are some strong engines in xtera and there are some weak ones. for xtera we have these engines KA24DE, VG33E AND VG33ER. let no one deceive you. I have used models of the same year and yes they essentially yhe same.
The older exterra before 2003 I think still spot the 3.3 liter engine the pathy dropped in late 2000. But the newer models - read 2005 and up- run on the same 4.2liter engine as the pathfinder.
So except your car has other issues and baring eggs to apples comparison. They birds of a feather. Romeo and juliet? kia and hyundai ? V6 accord and Acura ? V6 camry and lexus Gs?
