I would not advise you to think big with N40,000. Just look around you and you will be able to figure out 1 or 2 business.
1. What kind of neighbourhood do u live in?, how many immediate neighbours do you have?, then nosely find out what kind of phone network service they use and how often they reload their phones!, once u find this out invest just N5,000 for a start on recharge card and inform them immediately. Remember ur primary customers are ur immediate neighbours so even if u find another job it continues.
2. Find out if ur neighbours make use of Kerosene, gas stoves or firewood in cooking. If they make use of Kerosene, go to NNPC station at Ikoyi and purchase a 50 lit. Keg of kerosene, with the aim of reselling to them in bottle size or 4 lit. keg as the case may be!, But make sure u have a safe place for storage, so that wouldnt cause fire outbreak. If u can arrange a small metal tank for storage it will be more lucrative with faster turn over than the recharge card.
Come to think about it people must eat everyday and the cheapest way for a family of 2 and above to eat is to cook at home.
