Fellow nairalanders,

I want everybody in the house to beware and pass this message across to everybody. This is the message i received this morning from MTN number +2347032898073. The message goes thus:

"Dear mtn customer: CONGRATULATION!!! U have won N250,000 in on-going MTN SPECIAL RECHARGE DRAW. Activate 1171, and call the redemption centre (07031238100).

What do you see to the above message? What do you think we should do to ride this set of people out of our society and what how do you think MTN could nail this set of 419 people. Your suggestions and contributions will be of help to other.

Pls, ignore the text message, whoever must have sent it to you is a fraudster because that is not MTN official number.

I have received such text messages on my phone several times, what I usually do is to call MTN and give their numbers to mtn for sanctions and it is apparent that mtn is not doing anything to curb this criminals.

The last one i received prompted me to send the fraudsters a text message, tellng them to change thier ways in the name of God and turn to hardworking people and watch God bless the works of their hands. I didnt get any response from them.

so please be careful, i often wonder how they come across our phone numbers

since the landers are honest people who believe so much in honest living, any one who has not played any game with mtn should not expect any largesse from the company. if there is also a way of sending mail to mtn site, you can do this to put them on notice.may God save landers from cheats embarassed

I thank the Almighty God that members of Naira Land are honest and non greedy people who will not fall prey to these evil people. Please, let us continue to remain focused and contempted so that we do not become victims of fraudsters that are everywhere in our society today.

We also have to be very careful in everything we do, because some other times they could come in another method so that we can always overcome their antics. Always pay attention to the advertisements or warnings that MTN, other telecoms compay and some corporate organisations periodically place in the newspapers and their websites about methods of conducting and notifying winners of any promotions so as to be free from fraudsters who send sms and emails to decieve people.

Remain blessed and no body is going to defraud you.

Best regards,

Brodericks
