Good morning my people.

Please can I still apply for study permit this month even though my term start date is September 1 this this year.
Thank you.
You can chances are that you’ll get your study permit next month or by September. Once you have every document handy and ready. Nothing should stop you from putting forward the application

I’ve been worried sick.

I applied on the 13th of June.

My issue is I felt GIC of $10,0000 was enough as proof of funds so I only added my saving account statement with closing balance of just N2.2mil.

Survey plan of landed property in my name as home ties.

My employment letter as well as pay slips.

My full tuition for the 1 year duration of my program has been paid.

Will this suffice or should I send my business account statement as web form. I have extra funds in there.

Please any input would be appreciated.

@lekkiboe
@Frankrobbn

All the gurus pleas help. Thank you.

Relax bro, your application stands a great chance with GIC. Have you got a medical request yet? If so, go and buy your traveling bag.

If you applied since January, February and March and you haven’t gotten a PPR, please order GCMS notes immediately, because June applicants are already receiving PPR. Just so you know why your applications is stalling.

PPR ALERT!!! FIRST TIME APPLICANT

My story;

I was super excited when I woke up around 10 am this morning and saw two notification mails from IRCC , then I knew it was it, started smiling and quickly logged in to confirm it was real. Lol…

Prior to getting the PPR this morning I had earlier woke up around 5 am to check the portal , lol cos I got series of ghost updates yesterday, but nothing was there.

__Application timeline__

Application submitted - 5th April 2022
Biometrics done and complete- 6th April 2022
Medicals report request - 28th May 2022
Eligibility Review - 28th may 2022
Medicals done at IOM Abuja -2nd June 2022
Medical passed - 8th june June 2022
Sent series of Emails via webform and mail to IRCC, from the 10th week up until yesterday, intermittently though.
PPR - 30th June 2022

Documents submitted(self sponsored)

- Letter of Acceptance with co-op letter
- SOP (2 pages)
- Intl passport
-proof of funds (Statement of account 4 months +with letter of reference from bank) and (investment letter from cowrywise )
-Cv
That should be all.

Funny enough, I wasn’t really focused on moving to canada, my priority was Portugal, because I read about many refusals and long wait time.

However, after I got medical request, I became interested and anxious, so reactivated my Nairaland account. I was shocked when I came I on Nairaland Saw different applicants with extremely well packaged applications backed with with so many documents and I felt like Omoh, I no serious oo, lol. But God did it!

Afterwards, I spoke to Frank global, Makano and Anon, they all said once I had gotten a medical request that my application was as good as approved, they gave me so much hope and I wanna take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to them. God bless you my bosses.

I gotta be honest, my application wasn’t the near top 10000th applications I saw here, but it’s all grace and faith my people. God did it!

Landing gist next, Canada here I come!

Abeg any March Applicant here make e no be like sey na only me remain for d March. And for others that have been waiting since before march, Respect e no easy. May God come through for all of us.

I was wandering if IRCC are still legally within their rights to delay application this long, cuz i know some people who applied since January and are still waiting. I will say thats pure evil to be honest. There are underlying financial cost, emotional cost and mental health issues that people are experiencing. For example i missed out on my admission in ireland and turned down a job offer up north in hopes that ppr is incoming.

To the Lawyers in here, there must be something we can do to help our situation, maybe a petition or online awareness campaign or something, cuz me am not buying the "high volume applications and covid excuses" for the delay, each Applicant paid application fee, let them use from that money to temporarily increase their workforce and processing capacity to offset the backlogs. They are being biased to underdeveloped countries

Early rejection is better than rejection after 5 months of wait
lol, Omoh I don wait sotey I don dey lose weight. God will eventually do it for us

Few things to note:
****We used a conditional letter but wrote a letter stating that the ASUU strike was causing a delay in fulfilling the conditions of the letter****.
1. Sponsor transferred to my hubby’s account & he moved it to his mutual funds acct. We did a POF breakdown that showed the money we had was more than enough to cover the study duration.
2. For the kids LOA, hubby wrote a letter quoting the Canada immigration law that states the kids don’t need to have an admission offer before coming. Only their birth certificate was uploaded.
3. There was a table of content for every section.
4. Under my SOWP, I submitted the same SOP my husband used. Didn’t write a different one. I also added my own credentials and CV in my Client Info section.
5. A week after submission, we sent our salary bank statements & his study leave letter.
6. We have valid UK & US visas. Submitted all prior visas and stamped pages.
7. Most importantly, lots of prayers and praise.

A lot of questions were answered for me just by reading this thread. I pray that this inexplicable joy goes round in Jesus name!!!!!

Wow just two weeks,. Big Congratulations

Hello everyone. Pls I would like to clarify the following ;

- I plan to change to a different course or switch course after entering Canada. Pls when is the right time to switch courses when in Canada?
- Do I have to study for a few months or weeks on a current program before switching course? Is it possible to switch to another course before starting my first semester in the first place at the Canada university/college?
I don’t think it’s usually a problem switching courses, as long as you’re not changing DLI, but if you’re changing DLI and you haven’t got your SP yet, you can change DLI on your application, but might slow down visa processing. personally , I feel you should do the first semester before changing

Hmmm.. This feeling of being rejected isn't funny.
I applied March 22, only to be served breakfast on June 16th.

Reason:
Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be
accompanied by a new processing fee.

My Tuition fee was about #43k for a 1 year program
POF: cad $ 11,000 in savings and cad $50,000 study loan.

I thought this was sufficient, since the total covers everything.

Please,gurus in the house,any advice on how to fire back with a stronger application would be much appreciated. What I have done differently?
This rejection shouldn’t deter you bro, listen to whatever suggestions the gurus table forward, consult with them and fix areas where you didn’t tender appropriately initially. I’m certain you’ll get it this time. Cheers!

Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum. I applied for student visa mid March and i did my biometry on the 28th of March, I didn’t hear anything nor received any mail from them until today and when I checked, i saw a medical request from the IRCC. Just want to confirm if that is such a positive result and a step forward. As i said earlier I’m really new to this and don’t know much so I’ll appreciate your kind reply, thanks.
PPR is 90% Certain, just do your medicals early.
