Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Gadgetmobil(m): 7:23pm On Oct 23, 2023
Hi guys,
Went through the Sevis Fee payment for a friend and tried using Western union quick Pay.
It's meant to be on the Pay bill, but for some reason is not.
Thus it's to be paid in any western union location in USA physically.
Just tell them to search for SEVIS FEE on Pay bill if they don't know of it.

Just an Update.

Anyone can clear it further.

Well, what he did was unlawful and if you ask me, you did the right thing by getting him arrested.

Let it be a warning to him that next time you wouldn't be lenient on him.... You can apologize to him for getting him arrested, but let him know that you don't appreciate what he did to you and you're not going to stand for it if he continues with his behavior.

It's not your fault that he lost his job and can't find another one.

Very good advise...

That's if she'd have a Marriage to return to.

You'd have also figured that out too.

Business / Re: CBN Says It Is Not Trying To “Unify Exchange Rates“ by Gadgetmobil(m): 7:01am On Jul 27, 2023
jumper524:
dey there dey let media dey use sensationalism dey twist your brain. The CBN clearly scrapped the subsidised exchange rate and allow market forces to determine the real rate. Nothing like devaluation here, economic improvement would determine the positive or negative flow of those rate.
Already we've patched up a major bleeding source which is subsidy.
Time would tell the impact, but its never instant.

Tell me Oh wise one

What is Currency devaluation again if not all the above you stated?

Politics / Re: Bola Tinubu: Cashless Policy Or Not, My Election Victory Was Always Sure by Gadgetmobil(m): 10:21pm On Jun 29, 2023
Zxcvbnmghtr:
Could that be the reason why Tinubu's supporters never ever said they will WASTE their vote?!

It is only when you are consciously and subconsciously very, very sure that they candidate you intend to vote for is going to lose, while the one who we all consciously and subconsciously know will win but we HATE him so much, that is the only reason we were so willing to waste our vote on an eventual loser which is not a surprise at all.

Tinubu's win is neither a surprise. It was like Mancity win against Inter at the championship final. Mancity win was too sure. Tinubu win was too sure since after he won the APC presidential ticket.

Among those who wasted their votes, some are still wasting away in their loss while others are becoming more and more endeared to the winner, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and want to be part of his success.

Can you summarize this in English language?

Car Talk / Re: The PAJERO Club by Gadgetmobil(m): 6:46am On Jan 21, 2023
HOTARIO:
Do you own a Mitsubishi Pajero/Shogun, especially from 2007 upwards? Let's connect here to discuss experience, shared thoughts, Mods, maintenance, parts supply/availability, technical support, etc.

I have been an Acura MDX lover (2007 MDX Tech/Ent/Sports package) from 05/2015 to date. Recently found affection for the Pajero/Shogun full size SUV and got a deal on a 2010 model, black on black. My MDX is also 7 seater black on black

2010 Pajero, one owner from new. 103KM on Odo.

Issues at purchase:
Minimal. Light scratches and cracks in leather seats edges.
One weak ignition coil (No. 5)
One missing fog light chrome
Worn steering wheel leather
Few scuffs and scratches on body and fender. No dents
Faulty brake switches
Broken key fob

Works done
Leather repair cream. Small touch fixed leather seats
Ignition coil 5 changed
Fog light chrome fixed
Steering wheel cover installed
Full paint refresh. Oven job
Brake switch replaced
Key fob replaced
General service/Oil change (Total Quartz 7000).
Brand new Bridgestone tyres 265/65R17

Mods done
Led headlights low& full beam installed
Led fog light installed
Android entertainment head unit installed
Rear camera installed

Driving experience?

Awesome. Wifey & the kids have left Acura MDX for me. They are fully on Pajero .

One bummer though:
Floor under driver side gets hotter than normal especially in heavy traffic. Research on forums finger the Cat Converter. Some people said they fixed theirs by removing the Cat (I'm not sure yet). Will update on this fix.

Overall, I'm loving the Mitsubishi Pajero and looks like it's a keeper for the long haul.

Let's keep this going

YOU need a shipping agent to handle your cargo...alibaba people rarely ship out things, when they do...their cost is usually high. so you should have an agent in china, who the alibaba people will send your items to, the agent will now consolidate all your goods and ship them to nigeria. some agents charge 9usd per kg...etc... so go and search for a china-nigeria shipping agent. some advertise on this nairaland as well

You are the best

I left Nigeria in 2015 and it was the best decision I've ever made in my life. The peace of mind, clean environment, water, food, health care, being surrounded by civilized people, no generator noise and a better future for your unborn kids. Did I forget to mention that this is my 7th year here and I've not taken any malaria pill! grin Like the posters above advised, that your 300k salary is nothing compared to the peace of mind you'll get abroad. And what is more, you'll earn more if not more than double what you currently earn . So bro, if you're not an educated norther/Muslim find a way and leave that God forsaken country as soon as possible. Do not procrastinate!

Do the people that made this law, keep it?
I mean even the LG chairman flouts it as well as political people.

Fines are meant for traffic law offenders, fine them and move on, it's not a do or die affair.

Also signs are missing on many Lagos roads, one cannot know them all hence the need for Signs.

Politics / Re: Timipre Sylva: Petrol Queues To Remain Until Full Deregulation by Gadgetmobil(m): 9:36am On Jul 07, 2022
Subsidywise20:
Deregulation is the answer, but the government and the opposition are both waffling and wobbling over the matter, because politics.

At the end, if you want no queues, remove subsidy, remove government money, make NNPC private, and see if those dead refineries won't come roaring back, and new ones won't come up in minutes....

Yes, high prices, but yes...possible increase in investment and jobs, and government saves money.

Modifed

Before you quote me to shout 'Buhari nigbati nigbati opressor nigbati people will suffer you are wicked'....we are paying as much as 600 naira in subsides, up from below N200 last year, per liter...and that is going to keep on rising with rising crude oil prices. Especially since no one knows how long this war in Europe is going to last....plus subsidy costs have gone up from 2 trillion last year to 5 trillion this year, and rising.

Eventually, they will run out of money to pay for subsidies, and that means that they will take money from other sectors of the budget plus more loans to pay for your fuel to be N165 per liter or less.

So we choose our hardship. Either we keep on pouring money to feed the subsidy monster till it eats us, or we remove it, accept pain for a few years (I estimate that fuel costs could be up to N20000 or more weekly!) while the industry uses the profit to build up refining capacity, and government uses the money saved to pay for some things...like extra rise in salaries and minimum wage.

And for those of you moaning that government would chop the money...well, democracy involves holding the government to account. That means you and I get off our asses and start doing that.

And you think this Govt that couldn't account for anything would account for it?

Remain at that 1000 capacity, Broiler has a lot of disappointment.
What determines capacity in Agriculture is market and not your dream or passion.
Do you have a market that can swallow such?
